Be Ready
October 29, 2025
"Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not." Luke 12:40
We all know someone who seemingly takes forever to get ready. They spend hours in the restroom and hours more in their room getting ready for an event or even just to get out of the house. Others will spend hours upon hours getting ready for a presentation or an assignment for work. Students spend countless hours studying for the big exam. Getting ready for something can take a lot of time and energy because the time we put into our preparation will show in the result of what we do. The student who studied for the exam has the joy of a good grade at the end of the exam. The work project turns out better than anyone could have expected, all because of preparation. Spiritually we also need to prepare ourselves for when Christ returns, and many times we do not spend nearly enough time preparing for that, as we do other things. The Scripture reminds us that we should be ready also: for the Son of man comes at an hour we do not even think that He is coming. I encourage you today to prepare yourself for Christ’s return, just like you prepare yourself for the other things in your life. Prepare by taking time to read His Word. Take time preparing for His return, by praying, fasting and spending some alone time with Him. Take time preparing for His return, by showing the love of Christ to those you meet and being a blessing to those who need a blessing. Share the Word of God with someone who may need to be encouraged. You spend countless hours doing some things in your life, spend some time getting ready for Chris's return, you do not know, and no one knows the hour Christ will return, but we do know He is coming back, and you should be ready. I do not know the hour, nor the day, but I do know Christ is coming back, and I want to do all I can to be ready for His imminent return. Since I am getting ready for His return, I know for sure, "It's My Year To Get My Thing From My God!"
Prayer:
Lord, I want to be ready, I want to be ready, Lord, I want to be ready for when you return. Lead and guide me in the spaces and places that will help me to be ready for you when you return. Help me to show your love to others so they also can be ready for your return. I love you Lord. In Jesus Name Amen.
