Watch Your Mouth
June 02, 2023
“I said, “I will guard my ways, that I may not sin with my tongue; I will guard my mouth with a muzzle, so long as the wicked are in my presence.” Psalm 39:1 (ESV)
There have been times when we all have said something that we knew we should not have said. By the time the words came out of our mouths, we knew we had said the wrong thing, and to make matters worse we said it to the wrong person who will now try to use our words against us. We must be careful and take some time to think before we speak, because once we say the words, we can never retrieve them. It becomes essential that we are careful about what we say in every situation that we face. The Scripture reminds us that, we will guard our ways, that we may not sin with our tongue; we will guard our mouths with a muzzle, so long as the wicked are in our presence. I encourage you today to guard your ways and do not be hasty in the decisions that you make, the things that you do, and the words you speak. Do not allow a quick response to something or someone be the thing that causes you to sin with your words. When something or someone has brought you to a point of wanting to say something that will not bring glory to God, muzzle your mouth. Do not give those who are clearly against you an opportunity to tarnish your witness fro God. There are going to be some times when you are going to have to bite your tongue, but in biting your tongue, God will get the glory out of your life. Every thing that everyone says to you does not deserve a response from you, and sometimes your silence speaks louder than any response that you could give. Through this journey of life I will guard my ways, and my tongue so God can continue to get the glory out of my life. Since I will allow my actions and words to bring glory to God, I have no doubt, “It’s My Year To Get My Thing From My God!
Prayer:
Lord help me to guard my tongue today so I can be a witness for you. Allow my responses to be glorifying to you. Thank you Lord for always leading and guiding me into the places that you have designed for me. I love you Lord. In Jesus Name Amen.
