Watch And Pray
November 08, 2024
“Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” Matthew 26:41 (ESV)
Each of us face trials and tribulations on this road of life. Some of the things that we go through we can do something about, and other things our out of our control, and there is nothing we can do about them. In dealing with those things that are out of our control, we are going to have to learn to watch and pray. The Scripture reminds us that as Jesus was about to be betrayed, He asked the disciples to pray, and Jesus Himself went and prayed. As Jesus prayed the disciples fell asleep, and Jesus told them they needed to watch and pray lest they enter into temptation, but He knew their spirit was willing, but their flesh was week. I encourage you today to watch and pray. There are many things going on around you, and many of them you cannot do anything about, and it is in those instances that you need to watch and pray. There are decisions you need to make, and they should not be made quickly, but take your time and watch and pray so you will not enter into temptation. Watch and pray and ask The Lord to give you the direction He wants you to go. Watch and pray knowing your flesh is weak, but your spirit is willing. If your spirit is willing The Lord will give you what you need to make it through what you are going through. Do not allow your circumstances to dictate your actions, watch and pray, and let The Lord guide your path. My spirit is willing, and I know my flesh is weak, so I am going to watch and pray, and wait on The Lord to lead me to the place He has for me. Since I am watching and praying, I have no doubt, "It's My Year To Get My Thing From My God!"
Prayer:
Lord there are so many things that I cannot do anything about, but I know you know all things and you do all things well. I will watch and pray in all that I go through this day, and I know that you will show me what you need me to see and lead me where you need me to go. Thank you Lord for hearing and answering me when I pray. I love you Lord. In Jesus Name Amen.
