Walk In The Light
June 21, 2023
“At the same time, it is a new commandment that I am writing to you, which is true in him and in you, because the darkness is passing away and the true light is already shining.” 1 John 2:8 (ESV)
As we look back over our lives and all the things we have done, some things would give us occasion to smile, while others would cause tears to fall. Looking at old photos can be joyous, as we remember an event or something we have done with loved ones and friends. Then in that same photo album, there are some things that remind us of a part of our lives we would rather forget. There comes a point on our lives when we have to allow the past to be behind us, and hold on to the bright future that is in front of us. The Scripture reminds us that at the same time, it is a new commandment that I am writing to you, which is true in him and in you, because the darkness is passing away and the true light is already shining.. I encourage you today to allow the darkness of your past to past, and allow the Light the true Light who is Jesus Christ to shine in your life. There is not a thing you can do about your past, but let it go. You cannot go back in time and make things better than they were before, but you can let those things go, and look forward to the Light that is shining in your life now. The time of darkness does not last twenty-four hours, no matter how dark it gets at night you can rest assure daytime is coming, and darkness has to go away. Walk in the light of a new day because God is doing something new in your life. Do not allow people or things to drag you back into their darkness, walk in the light, put the past behind you, and look ahead to the great things God has in store for you. I am going to walk in the Light no matter what happens in my life, because Christ has shined His light of love on me. Since I am putting the dark past behind me and walking in the bright future in the Light, I have no doubt. "It's My Year To Get My Thing From My God!"
Prayer:
Lord than you for allowing me to walk in the light of Jesus. Thank you for making darkness flee and allowing me to see a new day in you. Thank you for loving me and allowing me to love you. I love you Lord. In Jesus Name Amen.
