The Advocate

“My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.” 1 John 2:1
As Christians we should try our very best daily not to sin, and although with our very best efforts and intent, every day we sin and fall short of God’s glory. Just because we sin daily does not mean we should be satisfied with sin, but we should always strive to be better. The penalty for sin is death and we should remember that we have a Savior who paid the price for our sin. The Scripture reminds us that, my little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. I encourage you today to be conscious of your thoughts, words, and deeds, and to also avoid sin. When you do sin, ask God to forgive you. It is not easy to avoid sin, but you must strive daily not to sin. Every day I sin and fall short, but I am grateful that Christ paid the price for my sins and is my advocate with the Father. Since Jesus is my advocate, I have no doubt, “It’s My Year To Get My Thing From My God!”
Prayer:
Lord forgive me of all my sins and give me another chance to walk in your will and your way. Thank you for being my advocate with the Father. I love you Lord. In Jesus Name Amen.
