Sure Foundation

"And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock." Matthew 7:25

We can make judgements based on how something looks on the outside before we know what’s on the inside. We can look at a house and determine if it is good or not simply by looking at the outside, and because it may be in a desirable neighborhood, we determine it is a nice house that will stand the test of time. No matter how nice the house may look or even where it is located, if it does not have a strong foundation when storms come, it will not be able to stand and protect those who dwell in it. Our spiritual lives are the same way. We can look good on the outside and be in a desirable place in our lives, but if we do not have a solid foundation we will crumble when the storms of life come our way. The Scripture reminds us that the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it feel not: for it was founded upon a rock. I encourage you today to make sure you have a good foundation for when the storms of life come. The Rock on which you are to be built upon is Jesus, and when Jesus is your foundation no matter how torrential the rain may be, or how hard the winds may blow, or how deep the waters may be, you will be able to stand through it all because you are built upon the Rock. When you make Jesus your foundation, you know you are on solid ground, and when the storms of life begin to rage, you have a strong shelter in Him. If you build your spiritual house on a shaky foundation, you will not be able to stand strong when life comes upon you, but if you build your house on a strong foundation hurricane force winds could blow at you, and you may bend, and you may even bow, but because of the foundation you are built on you will not break. I am grateful that I am built on The Rock, and He is my solid foundation for when life becomes rough. Since I know I have a strong foundation in Christ, I am positive, "It's My Year To Get My Thing From My God!"

Prayer:

Lord thank you for always being my Rock. Thank you that I have a strong foundation to stand on when the storms of life come my way. Thank you for never allowing me to break under the pressure of life’s storms. Thank you for being my sure foundation. I love you Lord. In Jesus Name Amen.
