Set Free

“So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” John 8:36 (ESV)
As we think about freedom and what it means to us and how we may obtain freedom. We will come to the conclusion that true freedom is not free; it means that someone paid the price that we might experience freedom. Our ancestors went through the horrors of slavery and the middle passage and fought, bled and died that we may experience the freedoms that we do today. While we have a long way to go to be totally free, we are where we are because of the price they paid. Sin had us bond and we were certain for an everlasting life in hell, but Jesus stepped in and paid the price that we would be free from the bonds of sin. The Scripture reminds us that, if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. I encourage you today to thank God for sending His Son so you could be free. Walk in the freedom that you have in Christ today and use that as an opportunity to testify of the saving power of Jesus. Use your freedom and liberty to be an example of Christ today. Since Christ has set you free, you are free indeed. Every chance you have you should use your freedom to praise, thank, and worship God for setting you free. I am grateful and thankful that Christ has set me free from the chains and bonds of sin, and I will walk in that freedom and share it with the world that they also might be free. Since I am set free in Jesus, I have no doubt, “It’s My Year To Get My Thing From My God!”
Prayer:
Lord thank you for paying the price, that I am set free. Help me to witness to the freedom that you will give to all, when they give their life to you. I love you Lord. In Jesus Name Amen.
