Reaching Forward
April 10, 2023
"Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before," Philippians 3:13
There are times in all of our lives when we feel like we are constantly climbing uphill. Even when we feel like life is finally leveling off, we realize there is another hill to climb. As soon as we think we finally have it all together, we discover that we don’t have it all together, and still have many more miles to go. It is then we should remember that this journey is not one that we walk alone, but The Lord walks with us. We should constantly remind ourselves that where we have been is not where we are going, and where we are is not where we are always going to be, because The Lord has great things in store for our lives. The Scripture reminds us to, not to think that we have it all together: but this one thing we should do, forget those things which are behind, and reach forward to those things which are before us. I encourage you today not to worry about where you are right now, but to focus on where God is taking you. You cannot allow your past to stop you from moving into your future. You cannot allow what you have been through to discourage you from moving forward. Your past is your past and you cannot do anything to change your past, but you can certainly change your future, by trusting in The Lord to lead you. No matter how difficult it may be, forget those things that are behind you. No matter how painful they may be, forget those things that are behind you, because as long as you try to hold on to them you will not be able to move forward. I am thankful for where The Lord has brought me from, and I know that He has brought me from along way, but I am not dwelling on my past, because I am too busy reaching for those things that The Lord has in front of me. Since I am forgetting what is behind me, and reaching for what The Lord has in front of me, I have no doubt, "It's My Year To Get My Thing From My God!"
Prayer:
Lord thank you for all the blessings that you have poured into my life. Thank you for where you have brought me from. As I focus on my future, I know that you have great things in store for my life, so I am forgetting what is behind me and reaching forward to the blessings you have in front of me. I love you Lord. In Jesus Name Amen.
