Planted In The Right Place
January 05, 2026
"He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers." Psalm 1:3 (ESV)
A tree’s strength isn’t found in its branches or its height, but in its connection to a source. In our lives, we often exhaust ourselves trying to produce results during difficult times. The secret to a flourishing life isn't more effort, but better positioning. When we root ourselves in God’s word and His presence, we aren't dependent on the weather or anything else because we draw from an internal, unending supply of God’s grace. The Scripture reminds us, he is like a tree planted by steams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers. I encourage you today to allow God to plant you in the right place so you can grow and prosper where He plants you. We live in a world of instant, but God works in seasons. Notice that the tree doesn't bear fruit every single day. There is a time for growing roots, a time for budding, and a time for harvest. If you are in a season where you don't see fruit, it doesn't mean you are failing. You might be in a season of deep rooting. Because the tree is connected to the stream, its leaf does not wither. Even in the heat of a drought stress, grief, or exhaustion, you can maintain your vitality because your spirit is being nourished from Gord Himself. When you are rooted in God, your actions carry His weight and intention. Your work, your relationships, and your character begin to reflect the health of the source you are drinking from.
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for being the Living Water. Help me to stay deeply rooted in You so that I don't wither when life gets difficult. Teach me to trust the seasons of my life and to find my nourishment in You alone. I love you Lord. In Jesus Name Amen.
