New Name

“Then he said, “Your name shall no longer be called Jacob, but Israel, for you have striven with God and with men, and have prevailed.” Genesis 32:28 (ESV)

We all can recall a time when we have done something that we are not proud of. We can all remember situations that we did not respond to in the correct way, and we call remember who we were before we were saved. No matter who we were or the mistakes that we make along the road of life, we can all be grateful that we serve a forgiving and saving God. God has transformed our lives and has set us on the right paths in life so that we may be witnesses for Him of His saving power and His love. Jacob had a not so good start in life, but God turned his life around and blessed him immensely. The Scripture reminds us, that God spoke to Jacob and said, “Your mane shall no longer be called Jacob, but Israel, for you have striven with God and with men, and have prevailed. I encourage you today to remember that you have been transformed. You are not who you used to be. God can change your name, but most of all He can change your heart and give you a new name and a new path in life. Walk in the newness of life that God has so graciously afford you. I am grateful that God has transformed my life and has set me on new path. Since God has changed me and is still working on me, I have no doubt, “It’s My Year To Get My Thing From My God!”

Lord thank you for transforming my life. Thank you for changing me and making mew whole. I love you Lord. In Jesus Name Amen.
