Lighten Your Load

“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.” Hebrews 12:1 (NLT)

As we make our way to the end of another year, we do so trusting and believing that God will see us through. For some of us we have accomplished much of the things we set out to do this year, and for others we have many things left still to do, and there are varied reasons why we have not accomplished some things this year. No matter if we are close to fulfilling some things are far from it, we must make up our minds to keep running the race that is before us. We don’t run aimlessly going nowhere, but we run with purpose and a plan to get to the place that God would have us to be. In order to run the race in the most effective matter, the Scripture reminds us to strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. I encourage you today to lighten your load for the rest of the race. Examine where you are and determine what should stay and what should go. Determine who should get your energy and who should not, because finishing the race for this year is going to set you up for a great start for next year. I am determined to strip off every weight that is slowing me down, so I can run with endurance and assurance that I will get to where God wants me to be now. Since I am stripping off weigh and not tripping in sin, I know for sure, “It’s My Year To Get My Thing From My God!”

Prayer:

Lord, help me to discover what weight I need to drop in order to run the last leg of this race that you have set before me. I want to be where you have called me to be, so I can do what you have called me to do, so you can get all the glory out of my life. I love you Lord. In Jesus Name Amen.
