Know Him For Yourself
February 10, 2024
“He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” Matthew 16:15 (ESV)
Some lessons in life we learn because we were taught. Other lessons we learned through experience, either the easy way or the hard way. We will all learn lessons our as we go along the road of life, and there are some things that we will stand on them no matter what. One of the things we need to know for ourselves is who Christ is to us. People can tell us who Christ is to them, but we must know Him for ourselves. The Scripture reminds us of Jesus asking His disciples who do people say that He is, and after they answered He then asked them, who do you say that I am? I encourage you today to know Christ for yourself. Someone may have led you to Christ, but there is a point where you have must know Him for yourself. Your parents, grandparents or another relative may have told you who Christ was to them, but there comes a point in your life, that you have to know not just your mothers or grandmothers God, you have to know Him as your God. It does not make a difference what anyone else says or how they feel about who Christ is to them, but you have to know who He is to you. When trials come your way, and you need Christ to be there for you, you must know Him for yourself, and not try to call on someone else's god, but call on your God to be there for you. Who is He to you? Through thick and through thin, Christ is my everything and my all and all, and a friend that sticks closer than any brother ever would. I know who He is to me, and since I do I have no doubt, "It's My Year To Get My Thing From My God!"
Prayer:
Lord thank you for allowing me to get to know you for myself. Thank you for walking with me on the road of life and showing me who you are every step of the way. Help me to be an example to lead other people to you so that they can get to know you for themselves. I love you Lord. In Jesus Name Amen.
