Just For Us
April 02, 2026
"And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me. 20Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you." Luke 22:19-20
Many of us have taken the time to partake of Communion or The Lord's Supper. While we have done this many times, we may not understand or realize the significance of The Lord's Supper. It is an opportunity to remember and reflect on what Christ has done for us on the cross. As we are quickly approaching Easter or Resurrection Sunday morning, we must first stop here at The Lord's Supper to remember the sacrifice He has made for us. The Scripture reminds us of this great event, when Jesus was at the table with His disciples enjoying a Passover meal, He took the bread and gave thanks and broke it and gave it to them and said to them as often as they do it, do it in remembrance of Him. Then He took the cup and did the same thing, and reminded them this was the blood of the New Testament shed for us. I encourage you on this Holy Thursday to remember the great sacrifice Christ has made for you on the cross. As you go throughout this day, think about how Christ went to the cross, not because He was guilty, but because you were, and He paid the penalty for your sins. Do not take for granted the great love Christ has shown you. Next time you share in The Lord's Supper remember Him at the table thinking about you. The Lord's Supper should never become habit for you, but should always hold a place of significance in your life. You should approach it with humbleness and thankfulness for the great things Jesus had done and is doing for you. I am so grateful, Jesus took the time to leave me something I can look to and remember the sacrifice He had made for me, and although I am unworthy I am thankful. Since He did it for me, I know without a doubt, "It's My year To Get My Thing From My God!"
Prayer:
Lord, thank you for the great sacrifice that you made for me on the cross at Calvary. I will never forget the ultimate price you paid for my sins, and as I share in Holy Communion, I will always be reminded of your love for me that you demonstrated on the cross as you died from my sins. Thank you, Lord for loving me so much that you thought I was to die for. I love you Lord. In Jesus Name Amen.
