"Save thyself, and come down from the cross." Mark 15:30
Today across the world Christians are celebrating Good Friday. It is the day we mark the death of Jesus on the Cross. When we think about Good Friday and Jesus on the Cross it would not seem like there was anything good about this day, but because of Jesus on the Cross on Friday, we can look forward with joy to Sunday. As Jesus was hanging on the Cross those who did not believe He was the Son of God mocked and belittled Him. The Scripture reminds us they said to Him, save thyself, and come down from the cross. I encourage you today to remember the awesome sacrifice Jesus paid for you on the Cross. Jesus could have come down whenever He was ready, but because He knew you would be in the need of salvation He stayed on the Cross. Jesus endured the ridicule of others for you, and He went through the pain and agony of allowing nails to be placed in His hands and feet for you. Remember on this Good Friday if Jesus would not have died you would still have an eternal death sentence on your life, but because He stayed on the Cross, your death sentence has been canceled and paid for by the blood of Jesus. I am forever grateful for what Jesus did for me on Calvary, and because He died my sins are atoned for and I will forever praise His name. Since Jesus did it all for me, I have no doubt, “It’s My Year To Get My Thing From My God!”
Prayer:
Lord thank you for the ultimate sacrifice that you made for my life. Thank you for saving me by dying for me. I love you Lord. In Jesus Name Amen.
