In The Family
February 27, 2026
"If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land." 2 Chronicles 7:14
Each of us has a given name and a family name. Our given name is unique to us in our family so that our given name distinguishes us from our siblings and other relatives. Our family name signifies the family that we belong to, and who we are related to. In some families there is an expectation that they live up to the family name in one way or another. We who are Christians do not only have our family name, but we have the name of Christ attached to us as well. Since we are Christians there are certain expectations we have simply because we are part of Christ's family. The Scripture reminds us that God said, if my people who are called by my name, would humble themselves and pray, seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from Heaven, and forgive their sins, and heal their land. I encourage you today that because you are a Christian and called by the name of God to humble yourself and pray. Since you are a Christian, you have certain access to the throne of grace that others who are not part of the family do not have. When you can call on The Lord no matter what you are facing He will be there for you and forgive you and heal your land. Do not be ashamed to approach the throne of grace knowing that The Lord hears you because you are part of His family. Seek God's face in all that you do, and know that no matter where you are, you can call on The Lord and He will be there for you, because you are family. I will humble myself and pray because I am called by His name, and no matter what I am facing I will seek His face, knowing that He will not only hear me but answer me. Since I will pray and seek Him through it all, I have no doubt, "It's My Year To Get My Thing From My God!"
Prayer:
Thank you Lord for adopting me into your family. I know that since I am called by your name I can call on you at all times, and I can seek your face and heart through it all. No matter what I am facing I know that I can call on you because I am part of the family of Christ. I love you Lord. In Jesus Name Amen.
