Humble Servant
March 28, 2024
“Then he poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples' feet and to wipe them with the towel that was wrapped around him.” John 13: 5 (ESV)
As Jesus is taking this journey of His last days of earthly ministry. He takes time to set up for them The Lord’s supper. A remembrance of who He was and for them to share that meal in memory forever. It was there at that Passover meal that He took bread and broke it, and gave it to His disciples, and in like manner He took the cup and gave it to them reminding them that those were both His body and His blood. After supper Jesus then humbles Himself as He takes on the task of a servant to wash the disciple's feet. The Scripture reminds us, then he poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples’ feet and to wipe them with the towel that was wrapped around him. I encourage you today to never forget the sacrifice that Jesus made
for you. Remember that Jesus took the stance of a servant, and you too must take that stance. There will be times when you will have to humble yourself, and it may not be easy, but remember when Jesus humbled Himself and washed the disciple’s feet. There will be times of humbling that I will have to undertake, and I will remember what The Lord did on this day by washing His disciple’s feet. Since I will humble myself as a servant of The Lord, I have no doubt, “It’s My Year To Get My Thing From My God!”
Prayer:
Thank you for giving to me the remembrance of your body and blood that saved my life. Thank you for reminding me that I too must be a humble servant. I love you Lord. In Jesus Name Amen.
