Grow Up
May 20, 2026
"When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things." 1 Corinthians 13:11
Each of us have childhood memories. We can remember the games we played, and the toys we had growing up. Some of the games we played we now see our children taking part in, and although we do not play them any more we still see the enjoyment they bring to our children. Life is forever revolving, and as we get older there are some things we just do not do any more, simply because they are childish. It should be the same way in our spiritual walk with Christ, there are some things we should not do anymore simply because they are spiritually childish. The Scripture reminds us that when I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things. I encourage you today to remember you are not a child anymore, and The Lord want to do great things in your life, but you must put away childish things. Since we are adults there should be some things that do not bother us any longer, but we should be experienced enough to know how to handle situations differently. When you were a child, you talked different and you understood things differently, but now that you are an adult, you should speak differently and understand things on a different level. God has great things in store for your life, but He will not bring them in your life if you are still acting like a child. Do not allow people and things to draw you back to childish things, remember who you are in Christ and walk in the new things Christ has for you. I once was a child, but I have since put away childish things and am walking in the new things God has for me. Since I have put away childish things in my life, I know for sure, "It's My Year To Get My Thing From My God!"
Prayer:
Lord, thank you for every experience that I have had in my life. As I draw closer to you, I am putting away childish things and childish ways. I will think and act like a spiritually mature person who knows that you will make ways for me always. Thank you Lord for always being there for me. I love you Lord. In Jesus Name Amen.
