Forgiving Grace
August 22, 2023
"WHAT SHALL we say [to all this]? Are we to remain in sin in order that God's grace (favor and mercy) may multiply and overflow? 2Certainly not! How can we who died to sin live in it any longer?" Romans 6:1-2 (Amplified)
There is nothing more wonderful than the grace of God. Grace is the unmerited and unearned favor of God. God gives us grace because He chooses to give us grace, not because we deserved or earned it. There is nothing we have done to earn or warrant God’s grace, we have done more not to earn His grace than what we think we have done to earn it. God decides in His infinite love and wisdom to give us grace. We have all had somebody we felt used us and took our kindness for weakness and stepped on us, all because we were good to them. No matter what they did to us or said about us, we would still do anything for them. The truth of the matter is we do this same thing to God all the time when we take the grace He gives us every day for granted. It is true all have sin and come short of the glory of God, but there are also some things that we do purposely, knowingly, and willingly that we need to stop. There are times we plan to sin because before we do it, we ask God to forgive us, and we expect His grace to see us through even then. I encourage you today to walk in the favor, mercy and grace of Almighty God. Don't let sin have its way today, but hold on to the grace of God. You are on a journey trying to reach the promises The Lord has for you, and you cannot let sin get you off track. You cannot waist another minute on the journey to the promises God has for you, by following after the wrong things and people. I thank God for His grace, and I have made up my mind that I cannot let sin block me because, I know with surety, "It's My Year To Get My Thing From My God!"
Prayer:
Lord thank you for your grace. Thank you for being a forgiving God and forgiving my sin. Thank you for walking with me every day and sending your blessings on my life. Forgive me of all my sin and give me another chance today to walk closer to you. I love you Lord. In Jesus Name Amen.
