Follow God
January 07, 2024
“Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children. 2 And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.” Ephesians 5:1-2
A father was trying to put together a doll house for his daughter, he looked at the picture on the box, and looked at all the pieces that came out of the box and began to assemble the doll house. About half-way through he realized that something wasn’t right, the picture on the box did not look like where he was headed with this doll house. He then began to take the doll house apart and start over again, only to discover there was something still not right, then decided to take out the instructions and follow the instructions to assemble the doll house. When he finally finished it looked just like it did on the box. There are times in our lives when we do not follow God and we end up going in circles and doing things over again until we follow Him. The Scripture reminds us that we should be followers of God, as His children, and walk in love, as Christ has loved us, and given Himself for us, as an offering and sacrifice unto God for a sweet smell unto God. I encourage you today to follow God. No matter what things look like follow God. No matter how much you think you know where you are going and what you are doing, follow God. Walk in love with those you meet, just as God has walks in love with you. Jesus gave Himself as a sacrifice for you, and since He did that for you, you should be able to walk in love with others around you. People may try to lead you down the wrong paths in life, but you should follow God in all that you do and remember, God will never steer you in the wrong direction. Stop going around in circles thinking you know how it is supposed to turn out, and follow God for He already knows how it will work out. As a child of God, I will follow Him always, knowing that He will never lead me down the wrong path. Since I am walking in love, and following God I know without a doubt, "It's My Year To Get My Thing From My God!"
Prayer:
Thank you Lord for the path that you already laid out for me. Thank you for ordering my steps and stops in life. I am determined to follow you always. I love you Lord. In Jesus Name Amen.
