Focus On The Eternal

"Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:" Matthew 6:19

There are some things that we are very lackadaisical about, and yet there are other things that we will put our whole heart and soul into. It is the things that we really care about that we will do all that we can do to make sure they work out in our favor. If someone likes to vacation, they will do all they can do to save and make sure that it is a good time for them when they go, but if they are really not into it, they will plan it, but all the time try to figure out how to get out of going. As we serve The Lord, we should put our all into serving Him. We should not allow other things to get our attention and cause us to lose focus on what really matters. The Scripture reminds us, not to lay up for ourselves treasures on earth where moth and rust will corrupt them and where thieves break in and steal. I encourage you today to make sure your heart is in the right place, and on the right things. Do not allow the temporary things of this world to take your focus off the great and eternal things that The Lord has for your life. When your car, house, or even your job becomes more important than seeking The Lord then your focus is in the wrong place. If you focus on the tangible things you have in life when they are taken from you, there will be a sense of loss, and what you set your heart on is now gone. Do not spend all your time making sure you are earthly secure, and then miss being heavenly secure. Set your heart on the eternal things The Lord has for your life, and do not worry about the things that come and go. I am thankful for every blessing The Lord gives me, and I know that He has greater blessings in store for me, and my heart is set on the things He has for me that do not rust, they are not corrupt, and no one can take them from me. Since I am focusing on the eternal and not the temporary, I know for sure, "It's My Year To Get My Thing From My God!"

Prayer:

Lord set my heart on the eternal things that you have for me. Allow me to store up treasures in Heaven that are eternal. I love you Lord. In Jesus Name Amen.
