Finish
January 30, 2024
“But many who are first will be last, and the last first.” Matthew 30:19 (ESV)
Finishing first for some is all that matters. If they can be the first to have the latest tech or gadgets, they believe they won. If they are the first to achieve things, they believe they are successful, but being first is not always an indicator of success. Sometimes finishing is more of an accomplishment than finishing first. For some they will do whatever it takes to come in first, even if that means stepping on and over people to get to the finish line. We who love God can take heart that it is not about finishing first with Him, it is about making sure we are doing all we can to get to where He has for us in love. The Scripture reminds us, that the first will be last, and the last first. I encourage you today to remember that God wants you to finish, and although you may feel like you are always ending up in last place, God has a first- place finish in your future because He sees you being steadfast in all that you do. There is no need to step on or over people because God wants you to reach down and back and help people along the way, and it may even seem like others are passing you by, but do not be discouraged, the last shall be first. I am determined to finish the course that God has me on, and in the process of finishing I will be a helping hand to all that I can. Since I know that the first shall be last, and the last first, I am convinced, “It’s My Year To Get My Thing From My God!”
Prayer:
Lord help me to be a blessing to others as I travel along this road. Let me not focus on being first, but on finishing, knowing that with you , the first will be last, and the last first. I love you Lord. In Jesus Name Amen.
