Family

"Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ." Galatians 4:7

There is something special about being a part of a family that we know loves and cares about us. It does not necessarily have to be our biological family, but just a family that we know cares about us and is there for us through all that we experience in life. When we feel like we are a part of a family, we feel a connectedness and sense of belonging, and although family units are not perfect, they are desired and needed. In families there are those who are the head of families who everyone in the family goes to for support and comfort, it could be a father, grandfather, mother, or grandmother, and everyone knows who to go to for the support they need. Not only do we need to feel the comfort and support of a physical family, but we also need to know that we are a part of a spiritual family, with God our Father being the head of our lives. The Scripture reminds us that, we are no longer a servant, but a child; and if a child, then an heir of God through Christ. I encourage you today to remember that you are in the family of God. Since you are in the family of God through Christ, you are no longer a servant to the things that used to have you bound. You are no longer a servant to your past or a servant to the things that attempt to pull you away from the things that The Lord has for you. You do not have to be a servant to things that do not have any life giving value to them, but you are a child of God, and because you are His child you have an inheritance in the Kingdom of God. You are an heir through Christ and you have access to His joy, peace, love, blessings, grace, mercy, and so much more, because you are in His family. Since God is your Father, He will take care of you and you can go to Him with all your needs, and He will be there for you. Your earthly family may have abandoned you, but your Heavenly Father will always be there for you. I am thankful for my earthly family, but I am also grateful and thankful for my Heavenly Father who constantly watches over me, and because I am in His family I am an heir of all of His great benefits. Since I am in the family of God, and an heir to all His promises I can proclaim without a doubt, "It's My Year To Get My Thing From My God!"

Prayer:

Lord thank you for allowing me to be your child. Thank you for being my Father who comforts and corrects me, but most importantly loves me. Thank you for always being there for me and watching over me. Thank you for keeping and blessing me over and over again. I love you Lord. In Jesus Name Amen.
