Count The Cost
January 04, 2024
“For which of you, desiring to build a tower, does not first sit down and count the cost, whether he has enough to complete it?” Luke 14:28 (ESV)
All of us has experienced a time that we did something out of the blue. We did not take the time to think or pray about it, or even care what the outcome was going to be, we just did it. In our haste of spontaneity, we did not think about the true cost of what we were doing until we had to pay the cost for what we had done. What seemed easy and carefree, turned into chaos and confusion when we did not think about what we are doing before we did it. The Scripture reminds us that, which one of us, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first, and count the cost, whether we have enough to finish it? I encourage you today to sit down and count the cost of what you are going to do before you do it. With just a few days of the New Year complete, and you begin to make plans for this year, first sit down and pray about what it is you want to accomplish and see if you have enough to finish what you are setting out to do. How many unfinished projects do you have lying around the house? How many things have you started and did not finish? Do not let this be the year that you get mid-way through something and give up because it is not what you expected. First pray about it and ask The Lord for direction and then count the cost and see if you have what it takes to finish it to the end. Whatever you start, start it with pray asking The Lord for direction, remember with The Lord on your side you will be successful because The Lord will see you through. Whatever it is I think I want to do, I will first pray about it and count the cost, knowing if The Lord is on my side in the beginning, He will see me through unto the end. Since I am counting the cost this year in all that I do. I have no doubt, "It's My Year To Get My Thing From My God!"
Prayer:
Every plan, every goal, every aspiration that I may have, Lord I give them to you. This year and for the rest of my life, I want to do what you have called me to do, so that I may have victory and you will have the glory. Thank you Lord for giving me good success in this new year. I love you Lord. In Jesus Name Amen.
