Count The Cost
March 22, 2024
"For which of you, desiring to build a tower, does not first sit down and count the cost, whether he has enough to complete it?" Luke 14:28
Each of us have done something foolish. At first it sounded like a good idea, and it was not until we were in the middle of it, that we realized that it was not a good idea at all, and as a matter of fact it was a horrible idea. Each of us has made mistakes as we and we will make some more no matter how hard we try not to, and there are some mistakes that are unavoidable, and there are other mistakes that if we would have just thought about it a little longer, we would not have moved in that direction. The Scripture reminds us that, which of us desiring to build a tower, would not sit down first and count the cost, to see if we had enough to complete it? I encourage you today to spend some time in prayer before you make any decisions. Ask
The Lord to lead and guide you in the way He would like you to go, before you move out on your own. Sit down and spend some quiet time in prayer, and really think about what it is you are venturing out to do, and you will discover if you have enough to finish your journey or fall
short. Many times, when you fall short you want The Lord to come and rescue you from your failed planning, but if you would start out in prayer and serious contemplation on where you want to go, you will avoid some of the pitfalls even before they happen. In whatever it is you are trying to build in your life, count the cost and see if it will be worth it, or if you have enough to finish what you have started. I have so many unfinished projects because what looked easy at first was not as easy as I thought it would be, and now I must count the cost to see if I can finish what I started. In every decision I make I will saturate it in prayer and make sure it is the direction The Lord wants me to go. Since I will count the cost before I go, I know for sure, "It's My Year To Get My Thing From My God!"
Prayer:
Lord, I need your direction for every step of my life. Before I start building, working, moving, or talking guide me and bless me to ensure I have enough to finish, so you can get the glory out of my life. I love you Lord. In Jesus Name Amen.
