But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.” 1 Peter 2:9 (ESV)
Each of us has seen a movie or a television show where children were choosing sides to see who would be on what team in the game they were about to play, and there would always be one child nobody wanted to pick, and how bad it would make the child feel. Life sometimes is the same way, we see others getting blessed and others lives doing well, and we are struggling and wondering if God has forgotten about us. We find ourselves wondering why God has chosen everyone else to bless but us, and we begin to feel just like the child who was picked last. The Scripture reminds us that, you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. I encourage you today to remember God has not forgotten about you, He is working everything out for you. Remember God still chose you to be on His side, and if you are on God's side you are on the winning side. God has said you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood a holy nation, God has proclaimed you to be all of this and when you are royalty things are different in your life, and you have access to great things in God. You are a peculiar to God meaning you are not like everyone else, nor does God want you to be like everyone else. God has made you special and He has great things planned for your life. Just like the child who was chosen last on the team He is the one who usually gets the winning home run or the one who makes the winning shot for the team. It doesn't make a difference what people think you can or cannot do, just remember God is working in you, and you are chosen to be on His team. I thank God He chose me and has made me a peculiar person, so the only person I have to conform to is Him. Since God chose me from the foundation of the world I know for sure, "It's My Year To Get My Thing From My God!"
Prayer:
God thank you for choosing me. Thank you for allowing me to be on your team and for all the blessings you pour into my life. Lord you are great and doing great things in my life. I love you Lord. In Jesus Name Amen.
