Be Holy
August 03, 2023
“since it is written, “You shall be holy, for I am holy.” 1 Peter 1:16 (ESV)
We all played the game follow the leader. No matter what the leader did we would have to do, and if we did not do it, we would be out of the game. A newborn baby will try to mimic the actions of their parents and do what they do. As we walk this road of life, there are many examples that we have before us to follow or not to follow. When we decided to give our lives to Christ we made a decision to follow Him, and not only to follow Him, but to be like Him. We will never be perfect like Christ, but we should strive every day for perfection. The Scripture reminds us that, since it is written, “You shall be holy, for I am holy.” I encourage you today to be holy. Being holy is not being perfect and doing everything right, but being holy is centering your life around your relationship with Jesus Christ, and being more like Him every day. Being holy does not mean you will not make mistakes, but it does mean that Jesus is the center of your life, and there are some things that you used to do that you will not do any more. Being holy is a way of life that you dedicate yourself to not matter what is happening around you. It is not always easy to set yourself apart from the things that you used to do, but when you are set apart for God’s use, you will be blessed. I am determined to follow Jesus in all that I do. I will not always get it right, but I am determined to be holy, because Jesus is holy. Since I am striving to be more like Christ every day, I have no doubt, “It’s My Year To Get My Thing From My God!”
Prayer:
Lord thank you for being an awesome example for the world to follow. Although, the world does not always do what you would have it to do, I am determined to follow your lead and be more like you every day. I love you Lord. In Jesus Name Amen.
