Be A Blessing

"Now when Jesus heard these things, he said unto him, Yet lackest thou one thing: sell all that thou hast, and distribute unto the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me." Luke 18:22

In these difficult economic times, there are more and more people seeking help to see them through until things can get better. The lines at food pantries are getting longer as more people are seeking aide. As more and more people are hurting, we still have to be a blessing to those in need. In the Scripture, a rich young man wanted to know what it took to follow Jesus, and he claimed he had been good all of his life. Jesus told Him there was one thing He was lacking, to sell all that He had and give it to the poor for he would have treasures in Heaven and follow Him. The young man thought this price was too heavy for him to pay, and did not follow Jesus, and missed out on the treasures in Heaven. I encourage you today to remember that your treasure is not on earth it is in heaven. It is not always easy to follow Jesus, there are going to be trials and tribulations along the way. What are you willing to give up to follow Jesus? Jesus is not asking you to sell all you have and give it to the poor, but He does want you to be a blessing to others. Be determined to be a blessing and you will reap a harvest from The Lord. I am determined to be a blessing to others as The Lord has blessed me. Since I know I am blessed to be a blessing, I have no doubt, “It’s My Year To Get My Thing From My God!”

Lord thank you for all the blessings you have placed in my life. Thank you for allowing me to be a blessing to others. I love you Lord. In Jesus Name Amen
