"Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life." Romans 6:4
Each of us has faced some things in our lives we wish we had not gone through. Each of us has done some things that we wished we would have never done, and we are living each day with the memory of those things. There are some things we may never get over and we carry them with us like luggage, and they can tend to weigh us down. If we had the ability to change some things in our past, we would but unfortunately we cannot, however we can let go of the past and look forward to the great things that The Lord has in store for us. The Scripture reminds us that, we are buried with Him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in the newness of life. I encourage you today to remember that those things in your past have been buried with Christ by baptism into death, and you should let those things remain dead. Just as Christ is raised from the dead, He will raise some new things in your life. You do not have to keep holding on to your past, when The Lord has a great future in store for your life. You do not have to keep looking back and wondering if things will ever be as they were before, but look ahead because that is where your blessings are. Walk in the new things that The Lord has prepared just for you. No matter how things have been, they will not be the same when you walk in the newness of life that Christ has prepared just for you. It is not easy making changes and doing new things, but it is necessary that you let go of some things so you can grasp the new things that The Lord has for you. I am thankful that there are some things in my past that are buried, and I am walking in the newness of life that Christ has in store for me. Since I am determined to leave my past buried and walk in the newness of life that Christ has for me, I am sure, "It's My Year To Get My Thing From My God!"
Prayer:
Lord help me to leave some things in my past and prepare my heart for the things that you have for me in the future. I know you have great things in store for my life, and I look forward to walking in the newness of life holding on to your strong and unchanging hand. I love you Lord. In Jesus Name Amen.
