A Whisper
April 16, 2023
"And after the earthquake a fire; but the Lord was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice." 1 Kings 19:12
We serve a Big God. There is nothing in the world bigger than our God, not our trials, tribulations or anything we face bigger than our God. Because we serve a big God, we have the expectation that when we need Him, He will show up in a big way. There are times we expect God to speak to us through the roaring of thunder or the clapping of lightning, and He might but most times He does not. There are some things that we go through and we just expect God to send down fire from Heaven in order to answer us, and although God can do those that, but many times God speaks to us in a small voice. The Scripture reminds us that, after the earthquake a fire; but the Lord was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice. I encourage you today to remember that God still speaks in a still small voice. Look for God in the midst of the big things in your life, but also do not forget to listen for God in the small voice and in the stillness of the things you are going through. As you go through challenges in your life, God will get you away from the noise and the hustle and bustle of a situation, and bring you to a place where He can just whisper in your ear that everything is going to be alright. Do not despise your quiet moments with God because that is when He will speak the loudest to your situation. When storms are raging in your life and chaos is all around you, find that quiet place so you can hear exactly what God is speaking in your life. I am thankful that in the mist of everything going around me, God has a place that I can hear His still small voice speaking to my life. Since I am listening for God's still small voice speak to me, I know I heard Him say, "It's My Year To Get My Thing From My God!"
Prayer:
Lord thank you for your still small voice that speaks volumes to me. Thank you for always being there for me. IN the midst of the noise and mayhem, I want to hear your voice whisper to me that it will be all right. I love you Lord. In Jesus Name Amen.
