A Straight Path

“Every valley shall be lifted up, and every mountain and hill be made low; the uneven ground shall become level, and the rough places a plain.” Isaiah 40:4 (ESV)
Today we pause as a nation to celebrate the life and legacy of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. For most of us is this a day to remember that we have come a long way through the struggles of a people, but it is also a reminder that we have a long way yet to go. There are those who will not celebrate or care to remember the legacy of Dr. King, but we who know that God had blessed him to lead a movement that would change this nation, we must celebrate. The Scripture reminds us, every valley shall be lifted up, and every mountain and hill be made low; the uneven ground shall become level, and the rough places plain. I encourage you today to remember that God is with you. Through your struggles of life, every valley will be lifted up, and every mountain will be made low. God will make the way straight for you when you put all your trust in Him. Dr, King did not have an easy road, and he put his life on the line that we all may be free, but most importantly he put his trust in God. Let this day be a day of remembrance for you, that God will level the ground so you can do His will. I am grateful for the life and legacy of Dr. King, and as God was with Him, I am reminded that God will be with me. Since I know God will make the path straight for me, and I will always remember He is with me, I have no doubt, “It’s My Year To Get My Thing From My God!”
Prayer:
Lord, thank you for the life of Dr, King. Thank you for using Him as a trumpet and a voice in this world that freedom could come to a people. Thank you for reminding me that you will always be with me and you will make the path straight before me. I love you Lord. In Jesus Name Amen.
