A Living Sacrifice
January 14, 2026
“I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.” Romans 12:1 (ESV)
The Lord has been so good to each of us and no matter what is that we have been through or going through we can always count on The Lord being there for us. Since The Lord is so good to us, we should have no problem surrendering ourselves to Him so He can get the glory out of our lives. Paul passionately urges us to offer our bodies as living sacrifices. Unlike the dead sacrifices of the Old Testament, this is a call to ongoing daily devotion giving ourselves wholly to God in every aspect of life. The Scripture reminds us, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. I encourage you today to be a living sacrifice unto God. Being a living sacrifice means that your actions, choices, and even your body is set apart for God’s purposes. It’s an invitation to surrender not just on Sunday mornings, but in the mundane moments of everyday life, at work, at home, in your relationships, and in your thoughts. Paul says this act is your reasonable service or your spiritual act of worship. In other words, worship isn’t confined to songs or church services; it’s lived out in how you love, serve, and honor God with your whole heart. Because of God’s mercy and grace, the most logical response is to give Him everything. Today and every day I am going to do my best to be living sacrifice unto God so He can get the glory out of my life and I can serve Him with my whole heart. Since I am a living sacrifice unto God, I have no doubt, “It’s My Year To Get My Thing From My God!”
Prayer:
Lord, thank you for being the ultimate sacrifice and paying for all my sins. Lord, help me to be a living sacrifice and live up to my reasonable service for you that others may see your blessings on my life and follow you. I love you Lord. In Jesus Name Amen.
