Wait On The Promise
May 13, 2026
"And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me." Acts 1:4
Each of us has had something promised to us, and we waited in anticipation for the promise to be given. Once we receive the promise there is even more joy of having it, than just being promised it. There is also the letdown of not receiving something we were promised. Once we realize that we will not receive what we were promised the joy turns into sorrow very quickly. People make and break promises every day and pretend like it is no big deal. The Lord makes promises to us as well, and the difference is that He never breaks a promise He makes to us. There are sometimes when The Lord promises us something and we will have to wait on it. The Scripture reminds us that Jesus told the disciples to go to Jerusalem and not to depart, but wait on the promise of the Father which He had told them about. I encourage you today to wait on the promises of The Lord. Whatever The Lord has promised you, He will bring it to pass in your life. You may have to wait, but whatever The Lord has promised you wait on it, and it will come to pass in your life. It may look like the promise will never come to pass but wait and you will soon see that what The Lord has promised you will come to pass in your life. Wait and The Lord will do just what He said He would do in your life. Do not depart too early because it does not look like it is going to happen in your life but wait and you will soon see The Lord will do what He said He would do, and there will be even more joy in your life when you get it, than just waiting on it. With people a promise may mean maybe, but with The Lord, it means it shall be. All the promises The Lord has made to me I know He will bring them to pass in my life, and I am waiting on them all, and I will not depart until I have them. Since I am waiting on the promises of The Lord, I have no doubt, "It's My Year To Get My Thing From My God!"
Prayer:
Lord, thank you for every promise that you have placed in my life. Thank you for always keeping your promises to me. I know that sometimes I must wait, but I wait with joy and anticipation of what you are going to bring to pass in my life. Thank you for loving me and always being there for me. I love you Lord. In Jesus Name Amen.
