It Is A Good Friday
April 03, 2026
"When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost." John 19:30
Today across Christendom we celebrate and commemorate Good Friday. It is the day when Jesus was hung on the cross and died. On the surface it does not sound so good, because Jesus died. It does not sound good that He allowed them to put nails in His hands and nails in His feet, and they pierced Him in His side. When we look at the events of this day, we might try to draw the conclusion that there was nothing good about this Friday. On the contrary what Jesus did on the cross that day over two thousand years ago, brought liberty and freedom from the penalty and guilt of sin for us all. It was a Good Friday because Jesus was not thinking about Himself, but thinking about us as He went to the cross. One of the cries from the cross that day was, "It Is finished," then He bowed His head and died. I encourage you today to remember that Jesus paid the price for you, and because He did you can also proclaim some things are finished in your life. Because of the work of Christ on the cross you can say there are some things in your life which are finished. Depression, finished, sickness finished, sorrow finished, death finished, all because of what Jesus did on the cross for you. Do not ever forget the great love Jesus showed you that day on the cross, when He died so you can have a right to life. So, as you go throughout this day do not use it as another day off, but take time to remember the great love Christ showed you today. When things try to come against you, face it, and proclaim, "It Is Finished." It is a Good Friday because Of what Jesus did for me on the cross, and because He did there are many things in my life I can now proclaim, finished. Since Christ died for me and rose again for me, I have no doubt, "It's My Year To Get My Thing From My God!"
Prayer:
Thank you, Lord for paying the price for my guilt, shame, and sin on the cross at Calvary. Today is a Good Friday because you showed your love for me by dying for me. Thank you, Lord for always being there for me. I love you Lord. In Jesus Name Amen.
