God Never Sleeps
February 24, 2026
“Behold, he who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.” Psalm 121:4 (ESV)
We all need a certain amount of rest to be able to function properly. Some people only need a few hours of sleep and can run for the entire day with just a few hours of sleep, for others they need to have eight or more hours of sleep to function at their full capacity. Some people are heavy sleepers and can sleep through just about anything. For others they are light sleepers and the slightest of noises will waken them. It is refreshing to know that we have a God who does not need any rest or sleep but watches over us as we sleep. The Scripture reminds us that, He that keeps Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. I encourage you today to remember that there is no need for you to stay up all night worrying about things that you cannot change, because God shall never slumber nor sleep. God is watching over you both day and night, and there is no need for you to have sleepless nights when God has promised to take care of you. In order for you to be at your best you need to get enough sleep to think clearly and to make rational decisions, so it is important that you get your rest, and let God take care of everything else. I am thankful that the God I serve never slumbers nor sleeps, but He keeps me through all things. Since I know God is always watching over me, I have no doubt, "It's My Year To Get My Thing From my God!"
Prayer:
Lord, thank you for giving me another day. Thank you Lord that as I slept and as I slumbered last night, you were watching over me. Thank you for being my God who never sleeps, and you never slumber but all day and all night you keep watch over me and I’m grateful. I Love You Lord. In Jesus Name Amen.
