Every Blessing

“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.” James 1:17 (ESV)

We live in a world that is constantly shifting. Trends fade, technology becomes obsolete overnight, and even our own moods can swing like a pendulum. But James steps in to ground us with a profound truth, goodness isn't an accident. When we experience a moment of pure joy, a breakthrough at work, or even the simple comfort of a morning cup of coffee, that isn't just life happening. It is a targeted, intentional gift from The Lord. Th Scripture reminds us, every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is variation or shadow due to change. I encourage you today to remember that every good and perfect gift you have comes from God. The Lord is the Father of lights. Think about the sun. While it is the source of light for our world, it creates shifting shadows as the Earth rotates. It rises and sets. But God? James says there is no variation or shadow with Him. The Lord is consistent, He doesn’t take any days off He is always there for you. The Lord is generous in how He blesses you and send blessings down to meet you, and He is the source of every blessing that comes into your life. Often, you focus so much on what you don’t have that you miss the perfect gifts already sitting on our laps. You may fall into the trap of thinking you are the sole architects of your success, but it is God who blesses you consistently. When you Acknowledge that every good thing comes from you eliminate pride because you know all your blessings come from God and no yourself, and you eliminate anxiety because you don’t have to worry because you know God will provide for you. I know that every good and perfect gift that has come into my life has come from God. I know that He will continue to bless me every day and I will always give Him the praise for His blessings in my life. Since I know that every good and perfect gift in my life comes from God, I have no doubt, “It’s My Year To Get My Thing From My God!”

Prayer:

Lord, thank you for every good and perfect gift you have placed in my life. Thank you for sending down your blessings to meet me. I give you glory and honor and praise for all you do in my life, and I know that I cannot make it without the Father of lights sending His light into my life. I love you Lord. In Jesus Name Amen.
