Do Your Best
January 12, 2026
“Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.” 2 Timothy 2:15 (ESV)
In his second letter to Timothy, the apostle Paul exhorts his young protégé to pursue excellence and integrity in God’s service. “Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved,” Paul writes, reminding Timothy that our ultimate audience is not people, but God Himself. The call is not just to diligent work, but to a life shaped by faithfulness and a commitment to truth. The Scripture reminds us to, do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth. I encourage you today to do your best to be all that God has called you to be. Paul emphasizes that you are to be a worker who do not need to be ashamed. This doesn’t mean you have to be perfect or never make mistakes, but it challenges you to give your best effort in all that you do for Christ. You do not work to earn God’s approval, but because we are loved and accepted by Him, you should desire to live in a way that reflects His grace in your life. When you correctly handle the word of truth you study Scripture carefully to understand it deeply, and to sharing it accurately. Take time today to read and reflect on God’s Word. Ask Him to help you understand it clearly and apply it faithfully. I am determined to do my best in all that I do for The Lord. I want His Word to be alive in my heart and my life so I can share it accurately with all who God places in my path. Since I am going to do my best and strfy God’s Word, I have no doubt, “It’s My Yea rto Get My Thing From My God!”
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for inviting me to be Your worker, a servant approved by Your grace. Help me to study and handle Your Word with care and integrity. Give me the strength to give my best in every area of my life as an act of worship to You. May my life reflect Your truth and love, and may I never be ashamed to stand for what is right in Your eyes. I love you Lord. In Jesus Name Amen.
