Peace Through It All
January 08, 2026
“In peace I will both lie down and sleep; for you alone, O LORD, make me dwell in safety.” Psalm 4:8 (ESV)
David wrote this Psalm during a time of significant distress. He was facing false accusations and people were seeking to ruin his life. It’s easy to have peace when everything is going well, but David’s peace in the midst of the storm wasn't dependent on his circumstances; it was dependent on his Source. The Scripture reminds us, in peace I will both lie down and sleep; for you alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety. I encourage you today to find your peace in The Lord. When you can lie down and sleep no matter what you are going through it is an act of will. In times of anxiety, your minds often races, trying to solve problems you weren't meant to carry. David chooses to physically and mentally surrender his everything to God, and you should to the same. David specifies that the Lord alone makes him dwell in safety. He doesn't find security in his palace walls, his army, or his own cleverness. True rest comes when you realize that God is your ultimate protector and source of peace. No matter what I may face today or any day, I know that I can lie down in peace and sleep, because The Lord is always with me, and He is my source of peace. Since I am trusting God through it all, I have no doubt, “It’s My Year To Get My Thing From My God!”
Prayer:
Lord, thank you that my safety does not depend on my efforts, but on Your faithfulness. Today I choose to hand over my worries, my fears, and everything to you. I will lie down in peace because I know you Lord are watching over me. I love you Lord. In Jesus Name Amen.
