Keep Looking Up
January 03, 2026
“I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come?” Psalm 121:1 (ESV)
Life is a journey with both ups and downs, mountaintop and valley experiences. Sometimes, we find ourselves facing challenges that seem insurmountable, problems that rise out of nowhere and they are staring us in our face. In times like these we need to lift our eyes beyond our circumstances, seeking help that comes from somewhere greater than ourselves. The Scripture reminds us, I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come? I encourage you today that no matter what you are going through to shift your focus from the problem to the Provider. The psalmist’s question, “Where does my help come from?” is a question we’ve all asked in moments of need, uncertainty, or fear. The hills might represent those challenges, or they might remind us of God’s glory and strength. When we look up in those challenging times we are reminded that it is an act of faith to look up to seek help not in our own strength, but from the One who created the heavens and the earth. No matter what I may be facing in life I am determined to always remember to look up, knowing that my help does not come from the hills, my hope comes from God who made the hills and sits high on His throne in Heaven, and I know He will see me through. Since I know that The Lord is my help, I have no doubt, “It’s My Year To Get My Thing From My God!”
Prayer:
Lord, when I am overwhelmed by the challenges in my life, help me to remember to look to You. Remind me that my help comes from You, the Maker of heaven and earth. Give me strength, courage, and faith to trust in Your guidance every day. I love you Lord. In Jesus Name Amen.
