Run Your Race
April 16, 2025
Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Hebrews 12:1
A runner running a race does their best to be as light as possible, so there is nothing that will weigh them down and keep them from winning the race. They understand the more weight they carry, the more difficult it is to run and win. In life, we are running a race and doing our best to get to the finish line. The Scripture reminds us, seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin that does easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us. I encourage you today to lay aside some stuff that is causing you to be bogged down and hindering you from running the race that God has set before you. It would be wonderful if you could choose the race you want to run, but you have to run the race The Lord has placed before you, and if you run His race you will find He will be with you every step of the way. Put down the things that no longer define who you are now. Run this race with patience, knowing you are not in a hundred-yard dash but a marathon and if you have the patience to endure you will win every time with God on your side. As we come to the ending of this season of fasting and praying keep running and stay focused on The Lord. I am determined to lay down some weight as I run the race that God has set before me, and although I want it all to change overnight, I will wait on God and I know He will turn it all around for me. Sine I am running my race and laying down the weight that hinders me, and I know that The Lord is on my side, I have no doubt, “It’s Year To Get My Thing From My God!”
