His Hand Is On You

“Both riches and honor come from you, and you rule over all. In your hand are power and might, and in your hand it is to make great and to give strength to all.” 1 Chronicles 29: 12 (ESV)

The Lord has been good to each of us. Through the trials of our lives and the things that we are going through, we can testify that The Lord has been good to us. The things that we were able to achieve in our lives did not happen because of coincidence of happenstance, it was only because The Lord was blessing us that we made it through some the challenges we faced in our lives. We should praise God every day for all of the blessings that He has given to us.

Nobody Like The Lord

“That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me. I am the Lord, and there is none else.” Isaiah 45:6

There is not a time or situation that we face in our lives that praising The Lord is not in order. When we realize all that The Lord has done for us, and all of the times He has kept us, we should be excited to praise and thank The Lord for His goodness and mercy towards us. There have been people in our lives that have helped us, and there have been those who have been there for us when the chips were down, but there has not been anyone in our lives like The Lord who has kept and blessed us tremendously.

Order My Steps

“Order my steps in thy word: and let not any iniquity have dominion over me.” Psalm 119:133

Every day it seems like we are faced with something new that is happening in the world around us. I tis difficult even to know what to expect from day to day, because things are changing so rapidly around us. As we prepare for each day, we must have our preparation begin with some time with The Lord. It is in our time with The Lord that we can gain the strength we need to make it through our days. The Scripture reminds us, order my steps in thy word: and let not any iniquity have dominion over me. I encourage you to begin your day asking The Lord to order your steps.

A Time Of Worship

"But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:" Exodus 20:10

It is no secret that we are living in a very different time as many Churches are not having in person worship opportunities.  For some this has changed the way they spend their Sunday mornings, nevertheless we should not forget that this is our sabbath.  There are times when we use our Sundays for our day of finishing things we didn't get done on the other days of week.   Sunday becomes a day when the shopping has to get done, and we feel we have to get things we need done for the kids and the house, and before we know it those things become the focal point of our Sunday.  It becomes a day for washing the car and doing yard work.

The Lonely Road

"Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it." Matthew 7:14

If we are not careful, we can get caught up following a crowd, and before we know it, we will be doing what everyone else is doing. We all want to be accepted in a group or with a circle of friends and because of our need for acceptance some will do whatever they need to do to fit in. Many times, some people will do something not because they agree, but simply because everyone else is doing it.

Stand In Freedom

"Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage." Galatians 5:1

Today across America we pause to celebrate Juneteenth. June 19, 1865 two and half years after the Emancipation Proclamation was given that slaves in Texas received word that they were free. There was jubilation and fear that day as slaves were now free to live their lives as they saw fit. Not everyone rejoiced at this news and from 1865 to present day we continue to fight for freedom for Black people. Through the days of the Civil Rights movement we have always fought for freedom and equality that was given to us not by man, but by God. The Scripture reminds us to, stand fast in the liberty wherewith Christ has made us free, and not to be entangled again with the yoke of bondage. I encourage you today to walk in the freedom that you have in Christ Jesus.

Prepared For Victory

“The horse is made ready for the day of battle, but the victory belongs to the Lord.” Proverb 21:31 (ESV)

As part of our daily routine many of us will watch the weather forecast for the day, so we will know how to prepare for our day. If the forecast calls for rain, we will make sure we have our umbrellas with us to shield us from the impending precipitation. If it is going to be cold, we will make sure we have proper attire to keep us warm from those winter days. In doing this we want to be prepared for whatever the day holds. Likewise, when there is a battle about to happen, we want to be prepared for the battle that we are going to have to face, and we do all we can to make sure that we will be victorious in whatever battle we are going to have to face.

Healing For The Broken Heart

"He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds." Psalm 147:3"He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds." Psalm 147:3

In life there are going to be times when things are not going to work out the way we want them to work out. There will be times when the people we thought were close to us are going to be the very ones who hurt us the most. No matter how much you plan some things there are going to be times when those plans crumble right before your eyes. Life at times just does not seem to be fair. There will be people who come in your life and you feel they are going to be there for a lifetime and you find out they were only there for a season.

Serve The Lord

“You shall serve the Lord your God, and he will bless your bread and your water, and I will take sickness away from among you.”Exodus 23:25 (ESV)

There are a variety of ways that we can serve The Lord. We serve The Lord by being a blessing to others. We can serve The Lord in our worship and praise to Him, and we can serve The Lord in the several ministries that He has given to us. We do not serve The Lord when we are displaying animosity towards one another, and forgetting to love each other just as God loves us. There are great benefits in serving The Lord that are blessings to our lives and to those we are connected to.
