Happy Glad

"The LORD hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad." Psalm 126:3

If we take the time to look at the journey we have been on thus far in our lives we will soon discover that we have had ups and downs. We have had good and bad days. We have been through a lot, but we made it to the place we are right now, because of the grace of God. We should also be able to say that through it all The Lord has done great things for us. The Lord has opened for us, and made ways for us that no one else could have done.

Stay The Course

“A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.” James 1:8

Each of us probably knows someone who finds it difficult to make a decision. One day they are sure that they are going to do one thing, and minutes later they are doing something totally different. We probably also know someone who finds it challenging to keep their word. They say they are going to do one thing, but when we turn around they have done the total opposite of what they said they would do. It is hard to depend on those who are constantly changing their minds or going off the set course.

Time To Grow Up

“So flee youthful passions and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart.” 2 Timothy 2:22 (ESV)

There comes a time in all of our lives that we had to realize that it was time for us to simply grow up. We were making decisions that were not in our best interest and still acting like we were teenagers. When life hits us we did not have time to be childlike in our approach we had to make the mature decisions for our direction and path in life. There also comes a time in our spiritual walk that we also must choose to grow up, and become the mature Christians that we were called to be.

Learn To Wait

“But do not overlook this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.” 2 Peter 3:8 (ESV)

We are living in a technologically driven society that has information in the palm of our hands. When we do not know something we can simply Google the information and hopefully what we find is accurate. We no longer have to search for information in the library or encyclopedias, and since we do not have to take time to do research we find ourselves many times not wanting to wait for anything.

Exalt Him

“Be exalted, O Lord, in your strength! We will sing and praise your power.” Psalm 21:13 (ESV)

Every day should be a day of worship and praise unto The Lord. Every day The Lord does great and wonderful things in our lives. Every day The Lord is with us, and every day we should lift up His name in praise. Every day The Lord provides for our every need and we should thank and praise Him for His goodness towards us. Every day we sin, and every day The Lord forgives us and gives us another chance.

Not Condemned

"She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more." John 8:11

As we journey through this thing called life we are going to make mistakes along the road. We will have ups and downs and slips and falls as we journey. It is important that we do not allow our downs to keep us down too long, or our falls to paralyze us in not getting back up and trying again. We may not succeed the first time we do something, but we certainly cannot succeed if we stay down and never try again.

New Things

"Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?" Isaiah 43:19 (ESV)

Many of us like getting new things, it does not necessarily have to be brand new, but if it is new to us it is still new. When we get a new car we want everyone to see our new car, when we get a new house, we invite people over for house warming gatherings so they can see our new house. We like when people notice our new outfits and new things that we have, for we work hard for those new things that we have. However, it becomes difficult to show off the new you, because many times we resist the new things that God is trying to do in our lives.

Hiding Place

"For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock." Psalm 27:5

There are times in life when no matter how much we try to avoid trouble; trouble has a way of finding us. No matter how much we try to go the other way or how much we look the other way, trouble can sneak up on us before we know it. What should we do we when trouble finds us, do we panic and try to ward off the trouble, or do we simply trust God to see us through it? The Scripture reminds us that, in the time of trouble God will hide us in His pavilion in the secret of His tabernacle He will hide us, and set us on a rock.

A Firm Heart

"He is not afraid of bad news; his heart is firm, trusting in the Lord." Psalm 112:7 (ESV)

Good things happen to bad people, and unfortunately bad things happen to good people. Things can spring up on us out of nowhere, and before we know it we are in a struggle. The sun can be shinning in our lives one minute, and it can be pouring down rain the next. Life has its way of giving us twist and turns, and it can be a fearful thing when you are not expecting the next turn. No one wants to receive bad news, and with the evolution of technology we can receive news faster than ever before. When bad news is received it can put an immediate damper on whatever it is going on in our lives.
