The Lord Is Always With You

"The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?" Psalm 27:1

It is always good to have someone we can count on. Some one who will be there through thick and thin, no matter what we are going through in life this person will be there for us. We all come to a point in life where we want to do everything on our own; we do not want to count on anybody for anything. We get this overwhelming sense of independence where we have made up our minds we can do it all by ourselves. The reality of the matter is we cannot always do everything by ourselves; everybody will need somebody at sometime.

A Contagious Christian

"Come, see a man, which told me all things that ever I did: is not this the Christ? 30 Then they went out of the city, and came unto him." John 4:29-30

In this season people are catching colds, flu and becoming sick. There are signs everywhere encouraging people to get a flu shot. In this season people need to be reminded to cover their mouths when they sneeze or cough and we should constantly wash our hands because the flu is contagious, and we can get the flu if we are not careful. Not only is the flu contagious, there are times when people can be contagious. They have this personality that can get people together and have them do things they would not normally do.

The Reason For The Season

"For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace." Isaiah 9:6

Today we celebrate the birth of Christ. This is one of the few days when it does not make a difference if people believe in Jesus Christ or not, families and friends will still gather around the Christmas trees to open the gifts they have received this year. Some will say Jesus was not born at this time of the year, or the virgin birth of Jesus is just a good story, and it is a fable not a fact. The truth of the matter is for those of us that believe in Jesus Christ today we celebrate the birth of our Savior.

A Little Is Enough

"A little that a righteous man hath is better than the riches of many wicked." Psalm 37:16

Each of us has wondered why do those who do not do the right things seemingly have more than those of us who do the right things. It would seem that those who are doing right should be the ones who are prospering more than those who do the wrong thing. Not only do they not pray, we are the one praying for them, and somehow they seem to be doing better than we are. This is only on the surface because material things cannot buy anything in the Kingdom of God.

Laugh And Sing

"Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The LORD hath done great things for them." Psalm 126:2

When God is operating in our lives there are some things we have to do, and there are some things we should not do. We should live our lives in front of others in order for God to get the glory out of what we have done for Him. People who do not know God should be able to look at our lives and see how even in the midst of difficulties we still trust God. If we who are saved react like the rest of those who are not saved, there is no reason for someone to come to Christ if their life will remain the same.

"But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:" 1 Peter 2:9

We have all experienced either in a movie, television show, or even in real life where children were choosing sides to see who would be on what team in the game they were about to play, and there would always be one child nobody wanted to pick, and how bad it made the child feel. Life sometimes comes at us the same way, we see others getting blessed and others lives doing well, and we are struggling and wondering if God has forgotten all about us.

One More Chance

"And Samson called unto the LORD, and said, O Lord GOD, remember me, I pray thee, and strengthen me, I pray thee, only this once, O God, that I may be at once avenged of the Philistines for my two eyes." Judges 16:28

So many times God blesses us, and we really do not understand the magnitude of the blessing until it is gone. There are times God gives us tremendous blessings or gifts that we take for granted and before we know it we find ourselves in a situation we should have never been in. Samson was blessed with incredible strength in order to do great things for God. Samson used this gift at times to bring himself glory and not God.

Seasoning Salt

"Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men." Matthew 5:13

There is nothing like good food! When we are expecting good food it satisfies us. When the food comes and it is not good we are disappointed. We all know someone who God has blessed with the gift of cooking. They could share their recipe with you and you go home and try it, but it would not taste the same. If we have people with the same ingredients make a meal, they may not all taste the same, the difference is in the seasoning.

Praise Him

"Let my mouth be filled with thy praise and with thy honour all the day." Psalm 71:8

We should start every day with thanking God just for giving to us a brand new day. When we went to sleep last night it was not promised we would see today. It is only by the grace and mercy of God we were allowed to see another day. God has been good to each of us, and He has poured out blessings upon us through thick and through thin. There has not been a situation we were in that God did not step in and make a way out of no way, or moved every hindrance that was in the way.
