Thanksgiving And Praise

01-05-2020

“Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name!” Psalm 100:4 (ESV)

On this first Sunday of a New Year we should be excited about going into the house of The Lord. It is in His sanctuary that we can thank and praise God for all of the wonderful things that He is doing in our lives. We should not have to wait until we get to His sanctuary to give Him praise, but we should come prepared to thank and praise Him. The Scripture reminds us to, enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; and bless his name!

Pray About It

01-04-2020

“do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.” Philippians 4:6 (ESV)

All of us have busy lives and busy schedules and if we are not careful we can become stressed trying to fit everything into our lives. There are some things that no matter how hard we try we will not be able to do anything about it. In those moments we must learn not to be anxious, but to give it all over to The Lord. The Scripture reminds us, do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your request be made known to God.

The Power To Do Good

01-03-2020

“Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to do it.” Proverbs 3:27 (ESV)

As we have just finished celebrating Christmas for many of us one of the highlights were to see the joy on the faces of our loved ones as gifts were being opened. It is good feeling to be able to bring joy to those we love. We do not need to wait until Christmas to bring joy to people, but we can do this every day. The Scripture reminds us, do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to do it. I encourage you today to do good to those that God has placed in your life.

Time Management

01-02-2020

“So teach us to number our days that we may get a heart of wisdom.” Psalm 90:12 (ESV)

After the New Year’s festivities has worn off, we must ask ourselves what are we going to do with the 364 days that we have left in this year? It may seem like we have a lot of time, but before we know it we will be at another New Year’s eve wondering where the time went. It is essential in this year that we do not wait or hesitate, but to use the time that The Lord has given us wisely. The Scripture reminds us, so teach us to number our days that we may get a heart of wisdom.

Look Up

01-01-2020

“I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. 2 My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.” Psalm 121:1-2

The Lord by His grace and mercy has allowed us to see a New Year. As we close out 2019 it is with great anticipation that we look forward to 2020. Although the calendar has changed and a New Year has begun, we must remember that in this year there are going to be some challenges along with great success. We cannot allow the challenges of this year to be our focus, but we must focus on the great things that The Lord is doing for us. In this year it will be essential for us to look to Him for all things.

Persevere

12-31-2019

"Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything." James 1:4

We have come to the last day of the year, and God has been faithful to us to see us this far. If we took the time to think about what it is we have been through this year, we would come to the conclusion that without a doubt God has been good to us. God has seen us through ups, downs, ins, outs, trials, tribulations, and storms both big and small. There were some who started out this year with great expectations and they have fallen off, and have once again settled for mediocrity.

The Lord Will Hear Your Cry

12-30-2019

"This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles." Psalm 34:6

There have been times in all of our lives where we have found ourselves in a difficult situation, and did not know how we got in it. This situation just seemed to creep up on us and before we knew it we were looking around wondering and pondering how in the world did we get here? Not only were we wondering how we got there, we also began to ask the more important question how do we get out of this thing? People can be great resources to find ways out of situations, and give good advice on how to manager our life, but when we are in real trouble it seems people give us good clichés' and not a good way out.

Brighter Future

12-29-2019

"Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before," Philippians 3:13

We all have some things in our past we are not proud of. No matter who we are, or where we are from, or how long we have been saved, no one is exempt from having some things they are not proud of. God has brought us a long way from where we used to be, and from how we used to be. There are times when it is hard to get past our past, but when God has stepped into our lives there is no need to continue to hold on to things that He has forgiven us for.

Sound The Alarm

12-28-2019

"And if ye go to war in your land against the enemy that oppresseth you, then ye shall blow an alarm with the trumpets; and ye shall be remembered before the LORD your God, and ye shall be saved from your enemies." Numbers 10:9

There are times in all of our lives when the enemy is going to come against us. It does not necessarily have to be an enemy we know, but people will find a way not to like you or try to stop your progress. When we are doing the work of The Lord no matter how much we love people there is always going to be someone or a group who is not going to like what we are doing for The Lord and will try to hinder the work of The Lord. When this happens it is imperative we do not become discouraged or even prepare ready to fight.
