"Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything." James 1:4
We have come to the last day of the year, and God has been faithful to us to see us this far. If we took the time to think about what it is we have been through this year, we would come to the conclusion that without a doubt God has been good to us. God has seen us through ups, downs, ins, outs, trials, tribulations, and storms both big and small. There were some who started out this year with great expectations and they have fallen off, and have once again settled for mediocrity.
The Lord Will Hear Your Cry
"This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles." Psalm 34:6
There have been times in all of our lives where we have found ourselves in a difficult situation, and did not know how we got in it. This situation just seemed to creep up on us and before we knew it we were looking around wondering and pondering how in the world did we get here? Not only were we wondering how we got there, we also began to ask the more important question how do we get out of this thing? People can be great resources to find ways out of situations, and give good advice on how to manager our life, but when we are in real trouble it seems people give us good clichés' and not a good way out.
"Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before," Philippians 3:13
We all have some things in our past we are not proud of. No matter who we are, or where we are from, or how long we have been saved, no one is exempt from having some things they are not proud of. God has brought us a long way from where we used to be, and from how we used to be. There are times when it is hard to get past our past, but when God has stepped into our lives there is no need to continue to hold on to things that He has forgiven us for.
Sound The Alarm
"And if ye go to war in your land against the enemy that oppresseth you, then ye shall blow an alarm with the trumpets; and ye shall be remembered before the LORD your God, and ye shall be saved from your enemies." Numbers 10:9
There are times in all of our lives when the enemy is going to come against us. It does not necessarily have to be an enemy we know, but people will find a way not to like you or try to stop your progress. When we are doing the work of The Lord no matter how much we love people there is always going to be someone or a group who is not going to like what we are doing for The Lord and will try to hinder the work of The Lord. When this happens it is imperative we do not become discouraged or even prepare ready to fight.
