Thank You Lord

01-23-2020

"In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you." I Thessalonians 5:18

Helping people is something we should all do. It becomes a little discouraging at times when you do something for someone and they don't even say thank you. You went out of your way, you took your time, energy, finances, or other things and helped a person out, and they received your help and did not even say thank you. This is disheartening and it makes you feel like you will never do anything for them again.

Follow The Light

01-22-2020

"Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path." Psalm 119:105

There is nothing that can penetrate darkness but light. It doesn't make a difference how dark a room gets the only thing one must do to change the situation is to turn on a light. Even a candle as small as it is will eliminate darkness. There are times when we have those dark periods and we just need something or someone to bring us out of the place we are in. The Word of God is so powerful it will illuminate the darkest of situations. The Scripture reminds us that, thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

Power To Endure

01-21-2020

"Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might." Ephesians 6:10

There are times when the things in life have a tendency to wear on us. There have been times when we just wanted to throw up our hands and walk away. We become weak with trying to maintain our situations and feel we don't have the strength to make it through. Paul in this Scripture reminds us to, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. To be strong means having power to resist or to endure, it also means not easily subdued or disturbed. We have the power from The Lord to endure the things that try to come against us.

Throw Off The Weight

01-20-2020

"Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us." Hebrews 12:1 (NIV)

Have you ever felt like the weight of the world was on your shoulders and yours alone? You look around at family and loved ones and it doesn't seem like they are going through anything at all, and you have trials and tribulations on every hand. It seems like you are carrying the load all by yourself, and you can't even get a break through any more. You try to pray and prayer seems not to work because of all the things that you are carrying. The writer of Hebrews reminds us, to throw off everything that hinders us.

Give God The Glory

01-19-2020

"Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name: bring an offering, and come before him: worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness." I Chronicles 16:29

Each of us at one time or another has heard someone say, “The Lord has been good to us”, but if we truly realize the depth of this statement we would come to the conclusion that it is only partially true. The truth of the matter is not only has The Lord been good to us, but also The Lord is good to us. He continues to bless us and continues to keep us no matter what is going on in our life. The Lord is good and because of His goodness, mercy, and grace we His people should give Him the glory due His name.

The Lord Is On Your Side

01-18-2020

"The LORD is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me?"Psalm 118:6

It is a blessing to know that The Lord is on our side. As we travel through life there are going to be days that are full of difficulties. There are days when it seems like there is one thing right after another. As soon as one storm is over something else seems to happen, but it good to know that through it all The Lord is on our side. When things do get tough it is natural to be afraid, but when we know God sits high and looks low and He is working out our situation in our favor we don't have to be afraid.

Thoughts Worthy Of Praise

01-17-2020

“Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.” Philippians 4:8 (ESV)

There are many things that go through our minds on a daily basis. If we are not careful we can focus on those things that are annoying, but not important. We can focus on the negative things that are happening around us, and miss the great things that The Lord is doing for us. It is essential that we spend more time thinking and concentrating on those things that are blessing us more than those things that are stressing us.

Special To God

01-16-2020

"For thus saith the LORD of hosts; After the glory hath he sent me unto the nations which spoiled you: for he that toucheth you toucheth the apple of his eye." Zechariah 2:8

There are times when we can feel like we are not special to anyone. There are other times when we may need a hug and there is no one there to give us a hug and we seem to be going through life on autopilot. When we go through the same thing day after day nothing special, it can be draining. It doesn't make a difference who we are all of us want to feel special to somebody sometimes. Man will not always give us what you are in need of, but God always will.
