Wise Counsel

12-1-2020

"Go from the presence of a foolish man, when thou perceivest not in him the lips of knowledge." Proverbs 14:7

We should always want to be around people who can lift and aspire us. We should want to be around people who have already been to the places we are trying to go, in order that we can learn and glean from their experiences and be successful in our pursuits. When we place ourselves around people who are positive and can give us advice, we can learn not just from what they say, but we can learn by watching what they do. When we around those who have not been where we are trying to go, or have no aspirations to go where we are trying to go, they can tend not to be an encouraging voice that we need to hear or the positive influence we need to give us a push towards our goals. There comes a time that we must decide what voices we are going to listen to as we push towards our goals.

"In God I will praise his word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me." Psalm 56:4

There are times when we have put our trust in people, and that trust for whatever the reason was broken. There have been times when trusted people with something near and dear to us, and they used it against us, and now we find it difficult to trust anyone. Then there are those in who we know we can trust, and no matter what they will be there for us. Even when people let us down, we know we can always put our trust in The Lord. It is The Lord who will keep us when we need to be kept. The Scripture reminds us that, In God we I praise his word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me. I encourage you today to praise the name of The Lord. Praise The Lord for His Word.

Each of us can remember when we had a rough day or series of difficult days. In those days it felt like we had nothing to hold on to and everything was slipping out of our grasp.
