Rejoice

05-04-2020

“Rejoice always,” 1 Thessalonians 5:16 (ESV)

The Lord has been good to each of us. He has given us this new day and although we may not know what this day is going to bring, we do know that The Lord made the day with us in mind. As we go throughout this day we may hit some rough spots and some things may not go the way we thought they were going to go, but we can still be thankful that we have a day called today. No matter what happens during the course of this day, let us make up our minds that through it all we are going to rejoice. The Scripture reminds us to, rejoice always.

The Lord Repays

05-03-2020

"The Lord repay you for what you have done, and a full reward be given you by the Lord, the God of Israel, under whose wings you have come to take refuge!” Ruth 2:12 (ESV)

Each of us has at some point has gone out of our way to be nice or to help someone out of the kindness of our hearts, not looking for anything in return. There were times when the person would try to pay us or to give us something for helping them, and other times they would not, but because we did it out of the kindness of our hearts the remuneration was not needed. As we look back over our lives The Lord has blessed us tremendously and many of our blessings we do not even deserve, but He keeps on blessing us. Ruth made a decision to take care of her mother in law and was not looking for anything in return, but The Lord blessed her.

Embrace New Life

05-02-2020

"He also told them a parable: “No one tears a piece from a new garment and puts it on an old garment. If he does, he will tear the new, and the piece from the new will not match the old." Luke 5:36 (ESV)

Each of us has a favorite clothing item that we liked so much that no matter the style of the day, or anything else we are going to wear it until we just could not wear it any longer. It can become disheartening when that item becomes so worn that we cannot wear it any longer. After we sew up the frayed ends and try to do all the repairs on it that we can, then once a noticeable tear is in the garment there is nothing we can do, but come to the realization that we cannot wear it any longer. If we try to patch it with another piece of fabric we know that it will not look good or even last.

05-01-2020

“Happy are you, O Israel! Who is like you, a people saved by the Lord, the shield of your help, and the sword of your triumph! Your enemies shall come fawning to you, and you shall tread upon their backs.” Deuteronomy 33:29 (ESV)

There should be no doubt that The Lord continues to do great things in our lives, and that should be more than enough to make us happy. The Scripture reminds us that, happy are you, O Israel! Who is like you, a people saved by the Lord, the shield of your help, and the sword of your triumph! Your enemies shall come fawning to you, and you shall tread upon their backs.

“I have been young, and now am old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken or his children begging for bread.” Psalm 37:25 (ESV)

In this time of pause that we find ourselves in, each of us should take some time to reflect on the goodness of The Lord in our lives. When we take this time to reflect, we should quickly see that The Lord has been good to us, and has taken care us every step of our lives. There has not been a time when God has not provided for us, and there has not been a time when He has not made a way for us. In the midst of this season we should have the confidence to know that The Lord will not leave us now. The Psalmist reminds us that, I have been young, and now am old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken or his children begging for bread. I encourage you today to know that The Lord will not leave you.

The Lord Surrounds You

"As the mountains are round about Jerusalem, so the Lord is round about his people from henceforth even for ever." Psalm 125:2

Those who live in mountainous areas of the country have the opportunity to see the splendor and beauty of the mountains that surround them. To be able to behold the beauty of these mountains even from a distance can be breathtaking. God Himself has carved out wonders upon His earth, and has given us an opportunity to experience them. As we look around at the beauty of the mountains and the trees, we can also experience God's protection surrounding us.

The Lord Is On Your Sides

04-28-2020

“If it had not been the Lord who was on our side let Israel now say;” Psalm 124:1 (ESV)

If we take time to look back over our lives we would realize that The Lord has been with us even when we did not realize that it was Him that was with us. There are some things that we have experienced and the only way we have made it out of those experiences is because The Lord was with us. Through our good and bad days The Lord has been with us, and we should never ceased giving Him the praise, honor, and glory, for always being with us.

Get Ready To Run

“And the Lord answered me: “Write the vision; make it plain on tablets, so he may run who reads it.” Habakkuk 2:2 (ESV)

Many of us set goals for ourselves as we started the New Year. We had plans that we were going to accomplish some things and establish some things this year, because this was going to be the best year of our lives. In the midst of having a great year we were hit with a virus that seemingly threw everything off course. The goals and the plans that we had for this year were either put on hold or forgotten about all together.

Encourage One Another

04-26-2020

“Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.” 1 Thessalonians 5:11 (ESV)

There are times in each of our lives that we go through some things and they are so difficult to deal with that we can become discouraged. Many times we become discouraged because it is difficult to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Discouragement will cause us not to even want to try to get back up or to try again, and can leave us feeling helpless and alone. .
