Promise Keeper

"And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform." Romans 4:21

Each of us has been promised many things, and some of the things we were promised we received, and then there are some other promises that have fallen short. Some people promise us things with every intention of doing what they have vowed, but they cannot fulfill the promises because something beyond their control prevented them from accomplishing their goal.

Fire Starter Or Encourager

“So also the tongue is a small member, yet it boasts of great things. How great a forest is set ablaze by such a small fire!” James 3:5 (ESV)

Each of us at one time or another in our lives has experienced getting a bump, bruise, or even a minor cut from something we were doing. Initially we found ourselves in pain and the wound did not look good, but over time we were able to experience healing, and although we may still have a mark of where we were bruised, the pain has subsided and left. There have also been times when we have been wounded by words spoken to us by others.

Stay In His Presence

“Cast me not away from your presence, and take not your Holy Spirit from me.” Psalm 51:11 (ESV)

Being in the presence of certain people can bring us joy and laughter as we enjoy their company. There are other people who we would prefer not to be in their presence at all because we know that it will not be a joyful experience. There should be no doubt for any of us that there is always joy when we are in the presence of The Lord. When we are in His presence there is a sense of security, and no matter what we are going through we know that everything is going to be all right.

Never Forget

"Then beware lest thou forget the Lord, which brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage." Deuteronomy 6:12

It can be disheartening when we do something for someone who has begged us to help them, and after we help them they act like they do not know us. There are some people who will talk to us only when they need something from us, and if they do not need anything from us they do not have time for us. We can go out of our way and spend countless hours helping someone out, and when we need them to do something for us, they are seemingly too busy.

Working On Weakness

“and make straight paths for your feet, so that what is lame may not be put out of joint but rather be healed.” Hebrews 12:13 (ESV)

Each of us has areas of our lives that we are really strong. We have those things that we can do without much thought or effort in making them happen because we are good at them. Then there are those areas of our lives that we are not so strong, and we find it difficult to accomplish some tasks simply because they are not our strong areas. It is in those weak areas of our lives that we must depend on The Lord to give us the strength to accomplish those things.

Always Thankful

“give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” 1 Thessalonians 5:18 (ESV)

Each of us has so much to be thankful for. As we look at our lives and see all of the marvelous things that The Lord has done in our lives we cannot help but to be thankful. If The Lord had not blessed us we would not be where we are today, and so there are many reasons for us to be thankful. We should not only be thankful when things are working out in our favor, we should also be thankful when we do not know how things are going to work out.

"But thou, O LORD, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head." Psalm 3:3

When we know it’s going to rain we make sure we have an umbrella to protect us from the rain. When we know the temperature is going to drop we make sure we have the proper attire to keep us warm from the cold. When we know that certain things are going to happen we can prepare ourselves for whatever it is, and be ready for it. Just as the umbrella keeps us dry and protects us from the rain, we have The Lord who is with us and will protect us and shields us from the things that may come our way.

All Because Of Christ

“By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence.”  2 Peter 1:3 (NLT)

There is no doubt that we have so much to be thankful for. God has been so good to each of us, and has blessed us in ways that we could have never imagined. It is because of these blessings that we can continue to see the power of God working in our lives on a daily basis. The Scripture reminds us that, by his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life.

There Is Power In Prayer

“The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.” James 5:16b (NLT)

During this season of crisis we have seen a lot of people try a lot of different things to try to help slow the spread of this virus. It started off by saying we needed to just wash our hands, and grew into wearing of masks and gloves while we are in public. For many of us masks, gloves, and the constant washing of our hands is our new routine. Some of those things have worked and some have not, but as believers in God we have a weapon that no matter what it is that we are facing that works every time and in all situations, and that weapon is prayer.
