Put All Of Your Trust In The Lord

"It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man." Psalm 118:8

Trust is something that is built over time, and once trust is established it is something that should be guarded and never broken. Once we trust someone we do not think that person would ever break that trust. There have been times in all of our lives where someone has broken our trust. We really thought we could trust that person and all of a sudden the very things we trusted them with and only them is now public knowledge.

"Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak." Matthew 26:41

Prayer is something that we can never do enough. Prayer should be an important part of each of our lives. Prayer is the thing that should get us from day to day. The song says, "whisper a prayer in the morning, whisper a prayer at noon, whisper a prayer in the evening just to keep your heart in tune." Prayer is what we should do each and everyday. The Scripture reminds us we should watch as well as pray, because one never knows what is going to happen, and the devil is always busy.

Listen For The Whisper

"And after the earthquake a fire; but the LORD was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice." I Kings 19:12

There are times when we are going have to go through some things on the road of life, and we will need God to step in our situation. Because our situation is so serious we pray and ask God to come and see about us, and we look for God to come in this great big way. We pray and we ask God for answers to our problems and we wait and wait and because God doesn't answer the way we think He should sometimes and we miss our answer and get discouraged and think God is not listening to us.

The Greatest Gift

"Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning." James 1:17

The Scriptures teach us it is better to give than to receive, and it is all right to like to give and to receive. Look at children at how excited they become to open gifts or to even watch someone open gifts. When one celebrates a birthday and they receive gifts they are excited about the gift. Even the giver of the gift is excited because they are anxious to see the look on the persons face as thy open the gift.

God’s Plan

“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29:11 (ESV)

Life can be unpredictable at times. Some people read their horoscope every day and look for those things that it says to come to pass. Only if life was that simple we would all know and understand what was going to happen and how things were going to turn out. Unfortunately, things in life are not that simple, life is more complicated than that. We can make plans for our lives and how we think things will turn out and it does not always work out the way we plan.

A Hiding Place

"For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock." Psalm 27:5

What do we do when trouble comes? It is easy to panic and try to fix things ourselves. There are times when we may not know what to do when trouble comes, but we do know that we should do something. Trouble comes many unexpectedly, it would be different if we could prepare for trouble, but trouble can come uninvited into our lives. We are children of God and He has a plan for when trouble comes our way.

Count It Lost

“But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ.” Philippians 3:7

In this life we are going to lose some things as we travel this road. Some of the things that we are going to lose may seem valuable and non-replaceable. As we serve The Lord there are going to be some things and maybe some people that we lose as well. Those things that we lose in serving The Lord may seem valuable, but we can count them as lost because what we gain in Christ is so much more valuable. The Scripture reminds us that, what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ.

“But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31

There are things that we know that The Lord has promised us, and we know that The Lord will do what He said that He would do for us. The problem is waiting for those things that The Lord has promised to us. For many of us we want those promises right now, because we believe that we are ready for those things right now. The truth of the matter is that there are promises that The Lord has made to us, that if He would give them to us right now, we would not know how to handle them.

A Made Up Mind

"My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed: I will sing and give praise." Psalm 57:7

As we prepare for yet another Sunday Morning Worship experience let our minds begin to go back to all of the wonderful things that The Lord has done in our lives. Think of how He has kept us in the most impossible situations and in the most difficult of times. We all have a time when we can think of when we made it out of a something and we know we shouldn't have made it out, but God made a way out of no way. He continues to bless and keep us despite the things we do or say.
