My Help

“My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.” Psalm 121:2

Today we begin a new chapter, a new decade, a new year. As we begin this new year, we should have a sense of anticipation of the great things that The Lord will do in our lives this year. As we go throughout this year we are going to be faced with challenges, hurdles and obstacles that we are going to have to get through. We will also be faced with some of the greatest blessings we have ever seen come to pass in our lives. As we navigate the challenges of this year, we should remember that we do not face challenges alone, because The Lord is there to help us.

Thanks Be To God

“But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” 1 Corinthians 15:57 (ESV)

There is no doubt that this has been a difficult year for most of us. We have seen and experienced things this year that we have never been through before. For many of us we have had more downs than ups and have seen our share of storms to last us a lifetime. As we prepare to close out 2020 and move into a New Year, it is a time to reflect not just those things that challenged us, but also a time to reflect on how good God has been to us. On this last day of the year let us spend this day being thankful to God for bringing us through.

Protection Day And Night

"And the LORD went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night:" Exodus 13:21

God does not always use conventional ways to take care of us. Sometimes it seems that He uses the most unusual methods to make sure that no matter what we are going through we are protected. People look at us and cannot understand what is going on in our lives, because they look at our situations and our circumstances and try to figure us out, but they do not understand why we are able to make it through some things whiles others have crumbled to pieces.

My Praise

"And he answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out." Luke 19:40

Every chance we have should be an opportunity to praise The Lord. The Lord has blessed our lives more than we could ever imagine. The Lord was there for us when others left us, and He was the One who kept us when others abandoned us. The Lord has been there for us through thick and thin and has seen us through the storms of life. Each of us will praise The Lord in a different way, some may shout, some may run, and others will weep. There are some who may not like the way we praise The Lord and will try to stop or hinder our praise, but we cannot allow anyone or anything to stop or block our praise to our God.

Brought With A Price

"For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's." 1 Corinthians 6:20

We work hard for the things that we have, and we do our best to take care of those things. If we buy a new car, we will take the time to make sure it is clean and stays looking new as long as possible. For the first couple of months we will notice every little nick and scratch on the car, and after a while the concern we had when it is new begins to fade. God has brought us with a price, and He is concerned about every little nick and scratch that happens to us, and His concern for us never fades. The Scripture reminds us that, we are brought with a price: therefore we should glorify God in our bodies, and in our spirits that all belong to God. I encourage you today to remember God cares about you, and you are brought with a price.

The Reason For The Season

"And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins." Matthew 1:21

Today we celebrate Christmas and share in the giving and receiving of gifts. It is in the Christmas season where people tend to be more generous and compassionate. There are many acts of random kindness all across the world just because it is Christmas. Some have spent countless hours and finances attempting to find the perfect gift to show the Christmas cheer. As we share this day with family and friends opening gifts, let us not forget the real reason for the season. The Scripture reminds us of this reason, a virgin shall bring forth a son and His name shall be Jesus.

Greater Is Coming

"Though thy beginning was small, yet thy latter end should greatly increase." Job 8:7

It is important to remember that it is not where we start that makes the biggest difference, but it is where we end up that counts the most. If we all had a choice to start at the top or at the bottom, many of us would choose to start at the top, because it looks more prestigious, and it just seems to make more sense to start at the top. The truth of the matter is we learn more and can make better decisions when we start at the bottom and work our way to the top. When people start at the top, they cannot fully appreciate the journey because they have not really been on one.

You Can Handle It

"There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it." 1 Corinthians 10:13

We can go through some things that make us feel like we are the only ones who are going through. Since we feel like we are all alone and no one will really understand what it is we are facing, we can feel like there is no way out, and we come to a place where we have to just learned to live with it. In learning to live with it we also do not give God a chance to bring us out of what we are in, because we have decided to just live with it, and have given up believing that God will deliver us. Even when we feel like we are in most hopeless situation we must remember that as long as God is with us, we always have hope.

Praise His Name

"Every day will I bless thee; and I will praise thy name for ever and ever." Psalm 145:2

We've all heard the saying, "God is good all the time, and all the time God is good." We should always remember that no matter what we may be facing; God is good. Since God is good all of the time It should never be too difficult for us to bless and praise His name. No matter what our situation or our circumstance The Lord is to be praised. The Scripture reminds us that, every day we will bless The Lord; and praise His name for ever and ever. I encourage you today to bless The Lord and praise His name. This is the day that The Lord has made, and you should bless Him for He is doing great things in your life.
