“give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” 1 Thessalonians 5:18 (ESV)
Each of us has so much to be thankful for. As we look at our lives and see all of the marvelous things that The Lord has done in our lives we cannot help but to be thankful. If The Lord had not blessed us we would not be where we are today, and so there are many reasons for us to be thankful. We should not only be thankful when things are working out in our favor, we should also be thankful when we do not know how things are going to work out.
"But thou, O LORD, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head." Psalm 3:3
When we know it’s going to rain we make sure we have an umbrella to protect us from the rain. When we know the temperature is going to drop we make sure we have the proper attire to keep us warm from the cold. When we know that certain things are going to happen we can prepare ourselves for whatever it is, and be ready for it. Just as the umbrella keeps us dry and protects us from the rain, we have The Lord who is with us and will protect us and shields us from the things that may come our way.
All Because Of Christ
“By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence.” 2 Peter 1:3 (NLT)
There is no doubt that we have so much to be thankful for. God has been so good to each of us, and has blessed us in ways that we could have never imagined. It is because of these blessings that we can continue to see the power of God working in our lives on a daily basis. The Scripture reminds us that, by his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life.
There Is Power In Prayer
“The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.” James 5:16b (NLT)
During this season of crisis we have seen a lot of people try a lot of different things to try to help slow the spread of this virus. It started off by saying we needed to just wash our hands, and grew into wearing of masks and gloves while we are in public. For many of us masks, gloves, and the constant washing of our hands is our new routine. Some of those things have worked and some have not, but as believers in God we have a weapon that no matter what it is that we are facing that works every time and in all situations, and that weapon is prayer.
