Embrace New Life
Each of us has a favorite clothing item that we liked so much that no matter the style of the day, or anything else we are going to wear it until we just could not wear it any longer. It can become disheartening when that item becomes so worn that we cannot wear it any longer. After we sew up the frayed ends and try to do all the repairs on it that we can, then once a noticeable tear is in the garment there is nothing we can do, but come to the realization that we cannot wear it any longer. If we try to patch it with another piece of fabric we know that it will not look good or even last. No matter how disappointing it may be we have to come to the realization that we cannot take our old items and make them new. The Lord is trying to do new things in our lives and we must come to the realization that there are some things from our past that are not going to work with the new things that The Lord is trying to do in our lives. The Scripture reminds us that, no one tears a piece from a new garment and puts it on an old garment. If he does, he will tear the new, and the piece from the new will not match the old. I encourage you today to stop trying to put your new life in Christ over your old life in the world, because they do not match. The Lord is doing something new in your life, and what He is doing now is different from what you have experienced in your past. You do not have to try to blend your old life over you new life, but you should be content with the new thing The Lord is doing in your life, and when you allow the new you to shine, The Lord will get the glory out of your life. Get to a place in your life where you are good with your past, being your past, and your new life in Christ being your present and your future. I will not take pieces of my past and try to mend them with the new life I have in Christ because I know that they do not match. Since I am walking in the new life Christ has for me I have no doubt, "It's My Year To Get My Thing From My God!"
Lord thank you for making me new, and for allowing the old things to stay in the past as I walk in the new life I have with you. In Jesus Name Amen.
