Live Quietly
July 02, 2026
"And to aspire to live quietly, and to mind your own affairs, and to work with your hands, as we instructed you, 12 so that you may walk properly before outsiders and be dependent on no one." 1 Thessalonians 4:11
Each of us knows someone who always needs to be out front. We know that person who always feels like the spotlight must be on them and if it is not on them, then there is usually a problem. Each of us have different personalities, and for some of us we are the upfront and for others we are the behind the scenes type , no matter which type of person we may be, we should not have to crave the spotlight. There is a time for all of us to shine in The Lord no matter what our personality may be. The Scripture reminds us to aspire to live quietly, and to mind our own business, and to work with our hands, so that we may walk properly before those who may not know Christ and be dependent on no one. I encourage you today to desire to live quietly, and to mind your own business, so that others can see the Christ in you and want the same Christ in their lives. In living quietly in The Lord there is always going to be that one person who will try to bring gossip or hearsay to you, and that is when you have to make up your mind that you do not want to hear it, and you are going to mind your own business and not get involved in gossip or hearsay. Work with your hands and do the things that The Lord has called you to do, and there will be times that you will feel like you are the only one working, but remember The Lord is with you. When you can live quietly and mind your own business, then you do not have to worry about what anyone can do for you or any favors that you owe anyone, because you trusted in The Lord and you know that He made a way and open doors for you. Continue to aspire to live quietly in The Lord, and He will bless you and give you what you need right when you need it. I will do all that I can do to live quietly and mind my own business and do what The Lord has placed in my hands to do. Since I will put all my trust in The Lord always, I have no doubt, "It's My Year To Get My Thing From My God!"
Prayer:
Lord, thank you for blessing me in so many ways. Lord, I aspire to do your will for my life so that you can receive all the glory, honor, and praise. You have given me so much to do that I cannot be distracted by minding some else’s business. Thank you for always being there for me. I love you Lord. In Jesus Name Amen.
