From Chaos To Calm
September 14, 2026
“And he awoke and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, “Peace! Be still!” And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.” Mark 4:39 (ESV)
Summer is my most favorite time of the year. I like summer because it gives people the opportunity to be outside and enjoy nature and one another. For others they like the fall or spring and there are those who will claim winter as their favorite season. No matter what season may be our favorite I have learned that storms can rise out of nowhere even on a day that starts out beautiful. When the storms arise, we should not panic but we should seek shelter, and for those of us who are saved we find our shelter and safety in The Lord. Jesus’ disciples were on a boat making their way to the other side when out of nowhere a storm arose and Jesus is on the boat sleeping. The Scripture reminds us, and he awoke and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, “Peace! Be still!” And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. I encourage you today not to panic when the storms of life rise, but to remember that Jesus is with you, and He will rebuke the wind and speak to your raging seas, and they will be calm. No matter where I find myself, I know that The Lord is with me, and when the wind blows and the sea rages, The Lord will speak peace to them and all my chaos will turn to calm. Since I know that The Lord can calm every storm in my life, I have no doubt, “It’s My Year To Get My Thing From My God!”
Prayer:
Lord, thank you for calming the storms that arise in my life. Thank you for never allowing the storm to overwhelm me. As I go throughout this day, speak peace to any chaos that would attempt to rise in my life. Thank you for always being there for me. I love you Lord. In Jesus Name Amen.
