“So now you Gentiles are no longer strangers and foreigners. You are citizens along with all of God’s holy people. You are members of God’s family.” Ephesians 2:19 (NLT)
Every day we should count our blessings if we are able to be a part of a family. Even if we do not speak to our family every day or see them as often as we want to, we are blessed to have family that we are connected to. There are those who are not connected with family members for a variety of reasons, but The Lord has blessed us to be part of a family, even if that family has issues and flaws they are still our family.
The Lord Delight's In You
“If the Lord delights in us, he will bring us into this land and give it to us, a land that flows with milk and honey.” Numbers 14:8 (ESV)
We can recount times in our lives when we did not do some things that our parents asked or told us to do. There are times we can remember when our children willfully disobeyed us and how disappointed we were in them and our parents in us. The same way we disobeyed and disappointed our parents and our children have done likewise, is the same way when we disobey The Lord that He becomes disappointed in us.
The Apple Of God's Eye
“He found him in a desert land, and in the howling waste of the wilderness; he encircled him, he cared for him, he kept him as the apple of his eye.” Deuteronomy 32:10 (ESV)
We may not be where we want to be in our lives, but we are also not where we were. If we would take inventory of our lives we would be able to see that The Lord has brought us from a long way. Some of our pasts have not been stellar and we know we have no comprehension of a good reason why God would deliver us from the life we had, to the life we have.
“For the Lord your God dried up the waters of the Jordan for you until you passed over, as the Lord your God did to the Red Sea, which he dried up for us until we passed over,” Joshua 4:23 (ESV)
If we would take the time and pause every now and then we would realize that, The Lord has done many great and wonderful things in our lives. It is these great and wonderful things that He has done for us that are going to sustain us when trials and tribulations come our way. It is these great and wonderful things that we should remember when the winds of life are blowing against us.
