Called And Chosen

"For many are called, but few are chosen." Matthew 22:14

Growing up each of us has played a game where we were on teams, and in order to be on that team we had to be chosen by the captain.  When the choosing process began everyone wanted to be chosen, but no one wanted to get chosen last, because it meant that you really were not that good.

Soaring On Eagle’s Wings

“Ye have seen what I did unto the Egyptians, and how I bare you on eagles' wings, and brought you unto myself." Exodus 19:4

There is never a time when The Lord leaves us by ourselves. We may feel like we are alone because of what we are going through, and although those around us do not understand what we are going through, we are never alone.  There are some things we go through and we cannot even begin to articulate to those who are close to us exactly what it is we are facing.

My God

"Thou art my God, and I will praise thee: thou art my God, I will exalt thee." Psalm 118:28

It is such a blessing to have God like our God.  There are other people and things that may try to set themselves up as a god, but there is not another god like our God. The God we serve is awesome, and is doing wonderful things in our lives.  The God we serve has kept us through difficult times in our lives, and has given us the sunshine after the rain.  The God we serve has made ways out of no way, and has performed miracles in our lives.

Daily Thanksgiving

“And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan.” Luke 17:16

The Biblical account of the story of the ten lepers reminds us of our constant need to be thankful to The Lord for all that He has done for us.  These lepers were not allowed to engage in close contact with anyone.  These ten lepers had to announce their disease to anyone who was in earshot of them, and constantly had to yell unclean, unclean, unclean.

Lift Up The Name Of The Lord

"I will extol thee, O Lord; for thou hast lifted me up, and hast not made my foes to rejoice over me. Psalm 30:1

Each of us has had our share of ups and downs in life, and for many of us we have had more than enough of our share of trials and tribulations than we even care to discuss.

God Will Supply

“I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.” Psalm 37:25

The Lord has allowed us in our years on earth to be able to see things and to be in places that many of us would never have thought we would be in or at.  Some of the things that we have seen and experienced can only be classified as miracles, and we were in awe and wonder at the majestic blessings of God working in our lives.

Stand On His Promises

“Resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same kinds of suffering are being experienced by your brotherhood throughout the world.” 1 Peter 5:9 (ESV)

No matter who we are we are going to have some trials and tribulations along the road in life, and it can feel like we are the only ones going through them.  The trial, tribulation, storm, and situation can be so overwhelming that we will not say anything to anyone because we do not believe they would understand the severity of what we are facing.

True Freedom In Christ

"For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another." Galatians 5:13

Today across America we celebrate the Fourth of July or Independence Day.  It is a time where as Americans celebrate the freedoms we should share.  It is a day when family and friends can join together in a time of fun and fellowship.  It is a time to remember that the freedom that we have is not free, that someone paid the price for our freedom, and a people built this nation even when they were not free.

Meditate On His Goodness

“May my meditation be pleasing to him, for I rejoice in the Lord.” Psalm 104:34 (ESV)

We would be amazed if we could count the amount of thoughts that we have in one day.  For many of us we think about a lot of things, and for some of us we daydream or our minds wander throughout the day.  Living in a technological driven society we are hit with so many different things that stimulate thought.
